Morning

In the morning, the rays of the sun were shining on Dexter's face through the window, waking him up. He yawned and he rubbed his eyes as he was looking out the window.

Dexter turned his head to the other side of the bed and saw Lynn sleeping deeply while the sun was still shining on his face. Dexter smiled at the sight and then he got up and went to the window. He pulled the curtain to cover the sun from shining on Lynn's face so it wouldn't wake him from his childish sleep.

He leaned on the window's frame and looked... we could say admired Lynn from afar as he kept sleeping peacefully. He went to the other side of the bed and sat down next to Lynn.

He put his hand to Lynn's ear and pulled a few strands aside to see his face. Dexter was surprised that Lynn didn't feel anything... or maybe he didn't want to feel anything.

Dexter kissed Lynn's cheek and he was a bit surprised by what he did, he just felt like it... He was surprised by how affectionate he was towards Lynn, despite the things he did to him, he still found his company pretty cute.

He was about to get up, but Lynn immediately caught him by his hand, dragging him back onto the bed. Dexter noticed his eyes were still closed. Was he awake all this time? He truly did not want to feel anything, so he just pretended to be asleep all this time.

Dexter's eyes widened and his mouth opened to say something, but it was immediately closed by Lynn's words: "What were you doing?" he opened his eyes.

Dexter stuttered: "Ah... Uh... Well, I..."

Lynn raised an eyebrow and curiously looked at Dexter that started blushing slightly. Dexter bit his lip and remained silent for some moments.

"I asked something. When I ask a question I expect you to answer, dear Dexy." he said, got up, and leaned against the back of the bed with his hands crossed.

"Ah... I... I know..." he looked away out of embarrassment while scratching the back of his head.

Lynn frowned and looked at Dexter's reaction with a serious face. "Answer then. What were you doing earlier? While I was asleep."

Dexter looked down at his hands, up at the roof, only not to face Lynn's eyes. He started stuttering again: "Umm... I... A strand of hair was on your face... I just..."

Lynn's face got deadly serious. Dexter felt awkward. What was this conversation?

Lynn looked like he didn't believe a thing Dexter said, and he didn't. He looked exactly in Dexter's eyes like he provoked him to make him angry.

"You know... If I told you right now that I didn't kill anyone would you believe me?" Lynn asked.

Dexter got a bit serious too, but he was still blushing. "N-no."

Lynn smirked and raised his eyebrows. "Exactly. That's what I thought of your answer too. I don't believe you. Tell me, what were you doing? I know you kissed me, I know you touched my face and I know you pulled the curtains only so I could sleep. Why?"

Dexter looked at the ground again. He was silent, he knew why he did that, but he would be more than embarrassed to tell Lynn about that.

Lynn got a bit mad and he got up from the bed while sighing: "I see, so you don't want to speak... All right, I guess I'll leave."

He started walking to the door but Dexter immediately rushed and caught Lynn by his hand. Lynn turned around and looked at Dexter's hand almost disgusted by his gesture. He took his hand away and frowned.

"I won't leave. Don't be that desperate." he rolled his eyes. "And don't touch me without my permission from now on." he added.

Dexter felt a bit upset, but he nodded quickly. Lynn didn't even believe that he stood one night with Dexter, in his own house, in his apartment. It was like he had just now realized what he did.

Lynn walked to the kitchen and Dexter followed. Dexter asked Lynn as he sat down on a chair and got out his cigarettes and lighter: "Do you want some coffee?"

Lynn glared at Dexter for some seconds while he lit up his cigarette. He took a drag from his cigarette, and then answered in a cold tone: "Yeah."

Dexter got the coffee ready for both of them while Lynn smoked his cigarette in peace. Dexter put the coffee in two cups and handed one of them to Lynn. He was pretty impressed by the taste of the coffee, despite Dexter working at a café. It was visible in the taste of the coffee and even in the looks of it. Lynn enjoyed the coffee very much along with his cigarette that was almost smoked.

"Lynn, can I ask you a question?" Dexter asked while taking a sip of his coffee.

"Go ahead. Ask." he answered, extinguishing his cigarette completely.

"What is your relationship with your boss?"

"What do you mean?" Lynn asked and crossed his hands.

"I mean... What is your relationship like with him? How did you end up working with him?"

Lynn looked with his eyes narrowed at Dexter like he was completely moved by Dexter's question. "Why would I answer you?" he said, to avoid answering.

Dexter looked at his hands, a bit ashamed. "I... I was just asking... Y-you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just-"

Lynn sighed loudly and he interrupted Dexter: "All right, I'll tell you."

Dexter's face brightened a little and Lynn stood and thought a bit to come up with something and to find his words.

He sighed again and said, a bit upset: "Where I am now, what I have, what you see in front of you... Is because of him. He came in my way and helped me. He brought me everything I needed... But in exchange for something..."

Lynn looked a bit sad again and very thoughtful. Dexter asked: "In exchange for what?"

Lynn took a sip of his coffee and answered: "Exactly like yours with him now... He would put me to please him in exchange for the money and power he gave me. He told me that I could do whatever I wanted in his organization and that I could even kill people. It got to my head, I was young and I was desperate for money."

Dexter's eyes widened dramatically as he listened to Lynn's story. He took another sip from his coffee and then added: "I got the chance to do whatever I wanted and it got to my head. I 'helped' him until he eventually got bored with only me and he kept me just for helping his organization. He then forced us to go bring him some new 'toys' for him to play with. That's where I met Paul, my bodyguard, and the other men."

Dexter looked affected by his story. Lynn added one more thing: "He used to fuck with both, men and women, what he had fantasies with we needed to bring him. That's why I said to obey his rules a little bit because he will get bored and leave you alone. And once he does, I will do the same."

Dexter was happy at the thought of Louis letting him alone, but a bit upset when he thought he will probably never see Lynn after that.

Then, Dexter took a deep breath and asked: "And the scar? The scar... from your lips?"

Lynn's eyes widened in surprise at such a question. No one had ever asked about the scar. He crossed his arms and leaned on the back of the chair and spoke, clearly not pleased by the idea "I got it the first time I saw Louis."

Dexter listened to him like a child that listened to her mother telling a night story. He wanted to know more about this man, and that's what he did. "What happened?"

Lynn bit his lip and said: "The first time when I met Louis, he asked me to make out with him. Of course, I didn't agree and I tried to run, but he took me and threw me on the couch... and then, he did what he does to you now." he stopped.

"And how did you get the scar?"

"He had a knife in his pocket. When he saw that I resisted so much, he got it out and pointed it at my face. I also tried to resist and when I saw how close that damn knife was to my face, I hit his hand and the knife fell on my lips and made this scar."

"That's tough... I'm sorry for you."

Lynn nodded and sighed. He hated the idea... that Lynn was also hurt by this man's behavior.
