Every day

Dexter felt sorry for Lynn's past and he wanted to console him in some way, but he didn't know how or what he should say to him.

"I'm sorry... I know how bad it is and it was probably worse in your case."

"I was your age when I met Louis. He seemed like a nice guy to me, at the beginning, but then he transformed into a monster, which is why I started to hate him, but I couldn't get back... He already gave me money and allowed me to live free, having all my crimes covered." Lynn said and took the last sip from the coffee.

Dexter was thinking about what Lynn told him just now... All his story.

"So you stood with this man... 5 years?" Dexter asked, clearly shocked by how long it took.

Lynn nodded and then he got up. "Let's go. You need to go to work and I have my job."

Before leaving, Dexter wanted to touch his hand, but he remembered what he said and just asked: "Lynn? Will you make me a promise?"

"Hm? A promise? What promise?"

"Promise me you won't kill anyone anymore... All right?"

Lynn chuckled. "I'm afraid that's a promise I can't make. I'll try my best to try avoiding this. Does that sound fair to you?"

Dexter smiled. "Yes, as long as you don't kill anyone, is perfect."

Lynn was asking himself how could Dexter make him promise such a thing. He was a killer, killing people was his job, and now Dexter wanted him to promise that he won't kill anyone. That was impossible.

Lynn and Dexter were on their way to the café and Lynn's curiosity was too much so he asked: "What's so special about that friend of yours?... Connor was his name I guess. What's so special about him? Why is he your friend?"

Dexter didn't want to answer his question, but it sounded fair to him that Lynn answered him when he asked, so he spoke, more hesitant: "Well... Because he is the closest person I know to me... He's always here to make my day better... If I'd say, he's my hero."

Lynn raised an eyebrow. "Your hero? So you love him that much because he's your hero?"

"Y-yes... Kind of..."

"All right then, let me tell you something about heroes..." he paused for a bit. "A hero would sacrifice you for the world's well-being. On the other hand, I have no such intentions. I would... burn... this planet we call our world... for you. So the hero goes under the villain."

He showed a teasing smirk, but he seemed serious. His tone was cold yet seductive in one way. His words made Dexter blush a bit.

After that conversation, a deep and intimidating silence had fallen between the two. Dexter didn't know what to say and Lynn was calmly driving.

Lynn parked his car near the café and sighed heavily after the silence. Lynn turned around to Dexter to talk to him, but Dexter was already out of the car, walking into the café with a hasty step.

Lynn just sighed once again and mumbled "Idiot... Total idiot."

A burst of anger hit Lynn and he started driving furiously and wildly to his boss's building. As he parked the car, his eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched. He got out of the car and slammed the door. He didn't understand what he did wrong. He tried to be nice and all, but Dexter didn't seem to like that. He thought that he should maybe stay all mad and cold and not talk anymore.

He entered the building and immediately went to his boss's office. He didn't even knock or talked to the bodyguards, he just brutally opened the door and approached his boss's office.

Louis raised his look and faced Lynn's angry face. He had a mocking face and a teasing tone. "Ah, Lynn, you're here. Have a seat"

Lynn narrowed his eyes but took a chair and sat in front of Louis. Louis's hands crossed his chest as he leaned on the back of the chair.

"What brings you here after you've left the meeting so fast?" he smirked.

Lynn's jaw clenched and so did his fists, but he tried to remain calm. "It was an emergency, so I had to leave."

Louis raised his eyebrows. "Emergency? What's so important that stole my Lynn from the meeting, hm?"

Lynn's eyes narrowed on Louis, but he continued "I needed to go to the hospital."

"Hm... Hospital? Who got hurt? Maybe your interest in the meetings I do?"

Lynn answered fastly: "Don't be absurd. I just needed to go to the hospital."

Louis smirked and got up. He came behind Lynn and gently placed his hands on his shoulders. "Ah? Don't tell me your little Dexy got hurt."

Lynn clenched his fists and then sighed. "I didn't go there for him. I told you, it was an emergency."

"Oh, but I understood that. I just want to know who got hurt, so I could wish them the best. Anyways, about the topic I talked about at the meeting..."

"About those three guys?"

Louis walked away from Lynn and leaned on the desk. "No. About that someone is betraying our organization."

Louis's gaze became more intense and his smirk was getting bigger. He tried to see through Lynn's soul and mind. "I think you know who it might be, don't you?" he grinned.

Lynn's eyes widened in surprise at Louis's words. How could he ask Lynn such a thing? He tried to stay calm, but his tone was as arrogant and cold as ever. "I don't know what you're talking about." he spoke.

Louis looked pretty surprised by that answer. "Oh... You don't? I thought you knew something... You know, so we could be prepared." he smirked and winked at him. "There is something I wanted to talk about with you. In the last few days, I haven't found so many people to fuck with, so I need your help."

Lynn immediately frowned at that. Louis continued: "I'm getting horny pretty easy, but I don't have with who to do it, so I need you to bring that friend of yours, Dexter."

As soon as he heard Dexter's name, he got mad. "What do you want with him?"

"Woah, slow down, tiger. Nothing more than just to make out a bit, all right? It has nothing to do with you, so I don't understand why you're so worried"

He sighed. "And when do you want me to bring him to you?"

Louis thought a bit, not like he already knew the answer. "Hmm... Let's see... Every day, after he finishes that job of his."

Lynn's eyes widened and he got even angrier by the second he thought about that answer. He just wanted to his boss's head by the wall and leave him like a dead fly on the floor.
