In the morning, Dexter woke up with a horrible headache and dizziness. He asked himself where the heck was Lynn, but he was probably just not thinking that he might be in the kitchen.
Dexter tried to get up but he had to hold onto something so he could walk. He peeked out of the room and saw Lynn standing down, looking at something on the terrace.
He frowned a bit before seeing a fluffy tail peeking out from behind Lynn's feet. He raised his eyebrows but then he realized the little fluffy tail he saw was a cat's. Lynn was on his knees, petting a cat.
For a moment, Dexter's heart melted at that sight. He looked around Lynn and saw a little plastic box filled with milk and right next to it some food.
With all the pain he felt, he was still able to smile just a bit at the sight of Lynn being all cute with cats. He couldn't help but stare at him as he smiled like an idiot.
Lynn got up and turned around. Dexter got scared and got back into the room. He heard the terrace door opening and Lynn calling out to the cat to come inside.
His heart started to beat as he stood in silence after the door. He heard steps and he knew Lynn had seen him. He took a deep breath and got out of the room, still holding onto the wall.
He was about to fall when Lynn instantly caught him in his arms before his face could collide with the floor. He looked up at Lynn and he seemed slightly worried.
He immediately got up on his feet as he was still holding onto Lynn's arm. "Uh... G-good morning..."
Lynn raised an eyebrow. "Good... morning...? What were you doing?"
Dexter raised his eyebrows. "What was I doing... Oh, I just woke up."
Lynn smirked teasingly. "Just woke up, you say? I thought you were just peeking out that door a few seconds ago."
He blushed in embarrassment. "Oh...Uh... Y-yeah... You caught me." he scratched the back of his head.
Lynn smirked again and looked behind at the cat. Dexter looked at it too before asking "Is this your cat? I'm pretty sure I didn't see it around here."
"No. It's a cat I gave food to once and since then, she likes to show up here. I get her inside for a few minutes before I let her leave." he said.
Dexter wanted to walk up to the cat, but he was still holding onto Lynn's arm, so he just got on his knees and started calling her.
To his surprise, the cat answered with a meow and then she hurried to come to Dexter's hand. Dexter took her in his arms as his hand was slowly brushing her back.
He got up and looked at Lynn, smiling. Lynn got a bit flustered at his sudden change and immediately started blushing. He nervously scratched the back of his head. "Um... Do you remember what happened last night?"
Dexter frowned. He tried to remember as much as he could, but his head started to hurt. "N-not much... I know I went to Louis and after we did it, he gave me a glass of water... that's what I remember."
"A glass of water?... Are you sure you don't remember anything else? Like, what happened after?" Lynn asked.
Dexter kept the cat in his arms as he squeezed her a bit. "Nothing. I was there, drinking that water, and after that, I woke up in your bed."
Lynn sighed as he started to explain. "Let me tell you what happened after that. So much I don't know either, but what I know is that I found you, all drugged up, in an alley, with no power to walk and self-consciousness. You were drugged, Dexter. You were drugged by Louis. He put drugs in that water."
Dexter's eyes widened slowly as he listened to Lynn. What the heck was that piece of shit thinking at that moment?!
"How didn't I see it?! If they were drugs then the water should've been white or at least have a colour or a smell. It tasted a bit different, but I was too exhausted to care. I'm so dumb." Dexter said as he looked down, almost crying thinking that it can happen again.
"Rule number one, Dexter. Don't you take something that is offered by Meyer! You can die." Lynn crossed his arms. "That's something I didn't tell you about, so it's my fault I didn't warn you before."
Dexter was surprised. Lynn? Talking all the blame? Since when?
Dexter slowly let the cat down and Lynn went with her to the terrace to let her out. He came back and took Dexter in a hug as he couldn't help but cry his heart out.
As he sobbed, he tried to speak "What... What if... What if he does this again?..."
Lynn placed his hand on Dexter's head, resting it on his chest. He started to caress it, trying to calm Dexter down.
"Shh, it's all right... I'll talk to him. It won't happen again... You need to be more careful with what he says and offers you... Don't cry."
Dexter kept crying before finally calming down. He took a deep breath and looked at the ground.
"Dexy..." Lynn started to speak. "Let's get you home." he pulled away to see his face.
"All right..." he said in an upset tone.
Before any of them could move or say something, Dexter took Lynn's face, got on his tippy toes, and kissed him gently on the lips.
Lynn's eyes widened, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he placed his both hands on Dexter's waist, dragging his body closer to his as the kiss got even deeper.
When Dexter pulled away, his face was all red and his breath was heavy. He made some steps back and said "I think we should go."
Lynn's face remained blocked for some seconds but he only nodded and started walking to the door as Dexter followed.
On the way back to the city, as always, they needed to pass by the wonderful field of flowers. When Dexter saw it, he raised his head and spoke without even thinking.
"Lynn, can we go on that field?"
Lynn slowed down a bit as he asked "What field?"
"That field of flowers that is close to the road. It's beautiful. I always wanted to go to a field and just be free. Can we go?" he asked with hope in his voice.
"Right now?"
"Yes. Please." he made puppy eyes.
Lynn sighed and pulled the car to the side as he looked to see if there was a road that passed by the field so he could not leave the car on the road.
He drove a bit closer and found a road and as he drove side to side with the field, Dexter was mesmerized by how colorful and beautiful it was.
As soon as Lynn parked the car somewhere close, Dexter immediately got down and Lynn after him.
"Dexter, wait!" he screamed after him, but Dexter could only see the field in front of his eyes.
He walked up to the flowers and looked at them, with a smile on his face.
When Lynn caught up with him, he looked at how happy and excited Dexter was and he could just smile.
"Ha, do you like it here so much?" he asked, smirking.
"Yes! It's amazing!" he smiled with excitement.
He came and hugged Lynn tight with some flowers in his hands. "Thank you so much! I love you! I love you! I love you!" he screamed, very happy.
Lynn just smiled as he blushed a bit and hugged Dexter back. Dexter took a flower and carefully put it after Lynn's ear.
"I love you too." he said, in the end.
