The necklace

The next three days were complete Heaven for Dexter. He took these three days off work and stayed at Lynn's house with Lynn and sometimes Paul.

Lynn let Dexter relax and sleep whenever he felt tired and he made everything he wanted.

The first day, after the night when Dexter wanted to suicide, Lynn was very careful at every move he made and stayed with his eyes on him.

He woke up earlier than Dexter did and slowly got out of the bedroom. He went to the kitchen and started to prepare breakfast for Dexter.

Meanwhile, Dexter woke up too, but he was too lazy to get up and go to the kitchen, but he didn't have any other choice.

He got his lazy ass up and walked to the kitchen where Lynn was cooking breakfast like a real master. When he spotted Dexter, he smiled. He made a sign with his finger for Dexter to sit down.

"Breakfast is almost ready." he said as he turned around back to cook.

Before sitting down, Dexter looked at Lynn. He was wearing some casual house clothes: a white T-shirt and some black shorts. His hair was in a ponytail and he was very focused on doing the best breakfast.

"What are you cooking?" Dexter asked and approached Lynn.

Lynn smirked. "Surprise."

Dexter made a sad face. "Oh come onnn, tell meee." he begged as he wrapped his hands around Lynn's waist.

"No." he smiled. "It wouldn't be a surprise anymore if I told you. I just hope you'll like it."

Dexter held Lynn tighter as he rested his head on his back. Lynn chuckled.

"Dexy, love, I need to move." he laughed.

Dexter blushed as he slowly let go of Lynn. "What? How... What did you say?"

"What happened?" he looked confused at him. "Did I say something wrong?"

"No... Just..." he blushed more. Lynn seemed even more confused as he saw Dexter's face, but he soon understood.

"Ohh, you're talking about the fact that I called you love? Now I understand."

Dexter blushed more. "Y-yeah."

Lynn chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "I'm sorry then."

Dexter went and sat down. "You're apologizing for nothing. I can't say you did something wrong."

"Oh, so I can do it again?" he smirked to himself as he prepared the food on the plate for Dexter.

"Uh... do whatever you want."

Lynn smiled. He turned to Dexter with the plate in his hands and placed it in front of him.

"What do you want to do today? We'll do whatever you want." he said as he leaned on his arms in front of Dexter.

"I don't know. I'm happy if I just spend time with you." he smiled.

Lynn sighed and walked up to Dexter. He kissed his head and then started to walk to another room.

"I hope you like it. Remember when I told you that I want to show you something special?"

Dexter stood and thought a bit. "Yes. Why?"

"Eat your food and then I'll show you."

"All right." Dexter smiled and turned to eat the breakfast Lynn cooked for him.

After he ate the food Lynn had prepared for him, Dexter got up and walked to him. "So, what is it that you want to show me?" he asked curiously.

Lynn smiled and slipped his hand into his pocket. He took out a small black necklace that had a little golden bullet that hung from it. At first sight, Dexter thought it was a fake bullet, but when he took a closer look at it, he noticed that it was real. It even had some old blood on it. He got a bit scared.

"What is this? It's amazing... Scarily." he said as he was still looking at it in complete awe.

"It's a necklace. Isn't that obvious?" he laughed.

"I know that... It's amazing. Where did you get it from?" he looked up at Lynn, hoping that he would tell him where he has the necklace.

"If I tell you, will you bring me the same necklace?" he raised an eyebrow.

Dexter nodded enthusiastically and took the necklace in his hands to take a better look at it. "Tell me."

He smiled proudly. "My father was in the army. He was shot in the heart and died in one of the attacks to protect the country. A friend of his brought me a golden bullet with blood on it. I didn't understand at the beginning, but then I realized this was the bullet that hit my father's heart and killed him." he explained with a calm voice.

"So this is the bullet that killed your father?" he asked again very surprised.

"Yes, it is. I didn't clean it completely because I wanted to have my father's blood with me. And that's what I did." he crossed his hands and leaned on the back of the couch.

"Wow..." that's all Dexter could manage to say.

"Yeah, really wow. Do you like it?"

"Of course I do! It's amazing! And the backstory of it makes it even more interesting and amazing!" he said excitedly.

"Glad you like it. You can keep it if you want." he smiled.

"What? B-but... it is yours... and it's so important to you. I-I can't." Dexter stuttered. He liked it, but he couldn't take it.

"Do whatever you want. It doesn't matter if it's mine. I don't even wear it and I'll be happy to see it on your neck. Keep it as a memory." he smiled again.

Dexter's face brightened with joy as he held the necklace tight. "Really?! Thank you so much!" he squealed as he wrapped his hands around Lynn in a hug.

He hugged him back and tapped his back. "You're welcome. It'll suit you better."

Dexter was full of happiness when he put the necklace around his neck. It was making him happy, but scaring him at the same time.

"You're the best!" he said after he put the necklace around his neck and hugged him once again.

Lynn chuckled. "I know." he said proudly.

"You're the first one that I've shown this necklace." he grinned. "Not even my bodyguard knows about it."

"And I do..." he said, a bit lost.

"Yes. Be happy about that."

"Oh, I sure am." he smiled and kissed Lynn on the cheek.
