Chapter 10 I Am A Doctor

Jefferson rolled up Selena's sleeve and found that her arm stained with dark drops of clotted blood. On careful inspection, he could even see a small hole where the needle had pierced her skin.

"Do all doctors transfuse blood to their patients? And is it normal to leave it bleeding like this?"

"What are you doing? I have nothing to do with you." Selena looked away and commented casually, "This is a hospital so you'd better let me go. I'll call the police on you if you pull something like last time."

Jefferson frowned, a trace of darkness flashing through his eyes.

She was the first woman who defied him!

In addition, she was also the first person to ever speak to him like this!

"Call the police?" Jefferson raised his eyebrows as he laughed, "Little Bunny, you do know that I am not an ordinary person, right? Are you sure you want to call the police?"

“......”

Selena knew that he was definitely not an ordinary civilian. Otherwise, he would not have been ambushed late at night and suffered from so many injuries. However, she didn't know if he had bad or good intentions, and what would actually happen if she called the police.

Her slight hesitation made Jefferson smirk.

Jefferson relaxed and gave Selena some space to breathe, only to have her slip out of his embrace.

"Why did you cry?" Jefferson asked softly after noticing her reddened eyes.

Selena tried to deny, "I did not cry..."

"Yes, you did."

"No, I didn't!"

Selena rubbed her eyes and refused to admit it.

Meanwhile, the nurse, Sandy, was busy looking for Selena after she had finished up her work.

As soon as she saw Selena, she ran towards her.

"Selena, there you are. I've been looking all over for you!" Sandy said with distress, "How are you feeling now? You lost 300cc of blood just now and even performed two operations in a row. Are you feeling alright?"

Selena shook her pale face, assuring, "I'm fine!"

"You're fine? How could you be fine?" Sandy scoffed in frustration, "Eva is really a detestable woman! Who does she think she is? She's just the dean's daughter! I would never want to listen to her if it weren't for the face that I was just a nurse. She knew that she was not capable enough, but how dare she act so arrogantly? If you didn't transfuse your own blood and perform so magnificently, that soldier's life would not be saved at all!"

"Sandy..."

"That b*tch Eva Scott..." Sandy felt a burning desire to defend Selena's honour as she gritted her teeth and complained, "I really don't know how blind Hamilton was to choose Eva over you! You two even agreed to get married next year. It's obvious that the two of you had a great relationship. If it weren't for Eva's interference, your relationship would've proceeded smoothly. Hamilton is such a jerk. He must be interested in that witch's wealth and status..."

Selena was once again heartbroken upon hearing Sandy's words. She stopped her from continuing and said softly, "Sandy, that's enough. Their business has nothing to do with me. I saved that soldier not to prove a point. I saved him because I am a doctor... "

Jefferson crossed his arms and frowned, his thoughtful gaze focused solely on Selena.
