Synopsis

'Gwen pushed him back, trying to create enough space between them. "I do not love you."

Alexander smirked. "You do. You just don't know that you do."

Gwen moved back. "Do you know the ways of my heart."

"Yes, I do. And it tells the truth. You are only too stubborn to acknowledge it." He moved closer, pressing her against the wall. "When you decide to tell yourself the truth, I will be waiting." He kissed her forehead. "But don't make me wait long. I am not as patient as people think." This time he kissed her lips and staked off, leaving Gwen in a complete daze.'

Marriage and a family is all life is to Gwen and she would see to it that she is not humiliated before then. A wife, and not a mistress is what she plans to be, but what can be done when the king of her country makes a proposal to put her by his side?

Alexander is used to getting what he wants and getting his way, after all, he is King. But when he sets his eyes on the young and beautiful Guinevere who is just as stubborn as he is, will making her stay at the castle earn him her love, or will it be the beginning of his undoing?

(Hating Her King is the sequel to Loving Her Duke and is also the second book of the British Blood Trilogy.)

Love this Historical romance. Excellent writing, character development, regular updates and overall great reading experience. Enjoyed Alexander’s teasing and Gwen’s defiance. Glad that she opened up and realized her Love for him. Good job author! Will we get to read about Brand’s story next?

I love this book. I love this author. After I finished reading Loving Her Duke - the first book in this series - I was so eager to know about the king and Gwen. Thank you author for this great story. I'm not greedy, but definitely looking forward to your next book. What about Brand? Would he find love? 😍 😍 😍

An excellent story, well woven. Great character development & dialogue. No loose ends, but still room for other characters to find their HEA. Looking forward to Tiny Psalm’s next book —she’s my new favorite!

Short and sweet. The characters. I like how the ML is matured. It fits his position in society. He guides the FL so well. One of the other characters caught my attention. I wonder if our author will write a story for that character 🫡

A very well written book with a lot of bittersweet moments. This book is a huge emotional roller coaster which in not my usual pick for a read but the author kept me curious enough to finish reading it till the end and I'm happy that I did 😁 I initially started this book because this is a part of the book "Loving Her Duke" but I loved the writing so much that I'm eagerly awaiting it's sequel "Saving Her Prince" 🥰 Each characters are uniquely designed and well written. The author has done an exceptional job of portraying the internal battle of the contradicting desires of the mind and the heart especially when it concerns Guinevere 👍🏻😊 Alexander is a prideful man who gets whatever he desires whereas all that Guinevere ever wanted was to live a simple and humble life subverting all her nightmares. Alexander's presence in Gwen's life is akin to facing the embodiment of all her nightmares and humiliations that she faced and still faces. This books speaks about Guinevere's struggles in conquering all her nightmares and learning to live happily and being her true self. I must admit I've hated Alexander for most of the book and still do. Tha arrogant and pompous man refused to understand Gwen's internal struggles and humiliation that she faced due to the life he forced her in as all that he cared about was his heart's selfish desires. He deliberately remained ignorant of her feelings and suffering of the loss of her kin for he only pursued in achieving the desired results while she was being torn inside out. My dislike for Alexander have not subsided but I'm happy for Guinevere for finally conquering her nightmares and living a happy and content life being her true self without needing to mask who she truly is to accommodate to the society's expectations 🥰 I must say this, I might not have been able to hate Alexander with every fibre of my being if not for the author exceptionally designing and writing his character. You've done an excellent job there dear author 🤗👏🏻 My heartfelt gratitude for writing this book dear author 😘💚💙 P.S.: I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel for Prince Brand "Saving Her Prince" so please expedite it's writing 🙏🏻😚 Chapters 121 (Alexander's self criticism and vulnerability) and 122 (Duke Carlson's heart to heart talk) are my favorites ❤
