Death at the door

"Drishti." Raunak called her in a low voice. His voice was trembling but he was trying hard to control. His eyes were red and dry due to anger. Biting his lips, he looked ar her her.

"Why are you doing all these? What the heck!?" Raunak shouted unmindfully. Drishti noticed the file in his hands which contained property transfer papers. She didn't want it to come across him but I came anyway.

"Nothing. Just thought to secure Ragini's life. Deep bhai and Mitali are really good parents but I don't know, just thought to do that." She sighed. She didn't want to talk about the matter.

"Okay. But why are you transferring your business shares to others? You shared all of your business in Germany on Blake's child's name. You shared Irene's shares on Mayank's name. You actually went to Singapore to manage all these. Why the hell did you start all these?" Raunak couldn't understand the reason of her doing that. Did she lose her mental stability? Or she wanted to resign from all of her works?

"Err...nothing. It's just I'm exhausted of having so much workload, so thought to divide it. Those kids will inspire me more and now I just want to work as an architect or archaeologist, nothing else. Enough of those businesses." She smiled a little. She was never a terrible liar, she could lie looking into others eyes and Raunak knew that very well.

"What are you hiding from me, Drishti? Why are you doing that?" Raunak cupped her cheeks in his hands and grabbed it with a little force. He knew she was keeping secrets.

Drishti couldn't say anything. She couldn't lie anymore. Enough of avoiding the truths. Tears rolled down from her eyes and she started to sob. Raunak didn't know who watching her cry like this stung in his heart. Without any words, he pulled her in his embrace. He hugged her tightly not wanting to let her go.

"You know it, don't you?" Drishti asked in a shaky voice. She should have known that. It was not a easy thing to hide from him. She wanted to stay in his arms forever but she couldn't do that. Her life would never give her the chance.

Raunak looked into her eyes for a long time. He was crying with her. He didn't know why his life needed to endure so much pain. Why all of his beloved ones needed to go away like this?

"You're betraying me now." He muttered being emotional.

"Did Adi tell you?" She asked. But in reply she could feel his lips on hers. He was devouring her, punishing her, yet loving her with all of his might. He wanted to hold her back. When they pulled away, Raunak attached his head with hers.

"You will leave me? How much time have you left?"

"I don't know. Maybe not even a week. All those medicines I took back then, all those problems I needed to go through caused a severe neurological problem. The blood circulation of my brain is quite unstable. Doctors failed to find any cure, they tried hard. Germany, Singapore, London, America, I didn't leave any place but I can't be cure. The surgery I need to go through has only 1% success rate. I can't believe my luck, right? I am going to die, so soon. And actually I found I never used any of my money. I was really miser, mean and cheap while I came to money. So thought to share those with kids, they will be rich now." She wanted to giggle a little but that never came out of her mouth.

Raunak knew it from a long time. He had gone through her medical files long ago. But he was waiting fir her to say all these but she never could gather up the courage. Sometimes he wanted to cry, sometimes he was angry but he was a coward to accept all the truths. And after Rajiv and Sanjana's death, he didn't even want to remind of this.

"Let's go to doctor one more. Try to lice once more." He took a deep breath.

"I've tried ample times. It's not possible. I'm sorry. I told you before i don't even believe me." She was crying though doctors asked her to stay away from any emotional breakdown.

"Anand told me not to believe you. I knew the moment he meant it. I didn't want to accept all these but his words just triggered me. I have no one in my life, my mom, sanjana Di, Rajiv bhai, you, everyone is leaving me one by one. Why? I wanted a happy life all the time. What sins did I commit to get that much punishments? I even stopped being ruthless in business after meeting you." He was crying like a child. He never stopped Deep from adopting Ragini because he knew that's what Drishti wanted. She could never stand all the time beside them, because the clock of her life was ticking, time was flying so soon. If she was the one to adopt her, she couldn't give her time. She would leave everyone before that.

"I am sorry. I promised you to live with you seven lives. But I can't even live one. I am sorry." She wiped her tears. It was not the time to fall weak. She still had one work left and that was to file case against Shalini.

"I can't forgive you even." Raunak was mad at her, he madly loved her, "But I want an answer, why did you marry me?"

"Dadu took your marriage proposal to my parents and I couldn't say no to them. You remember I told you I was in a meeting and said yes." She laughed a little remembering all these.

"I've believed that once. But you know that's a lame joke." He didn't want to force her anymore. She would leave him anyway. There's no way of holding back.

She didn't know how to answer that question. The much willpower her left would crash with the answer. But he would know it sooner or later. No way she could take him away from all these. But thanks to her phone that rang on time to save her from this situation.

Raunak wanted to curse loudly but seeing it was professor Joseph, he stopped.

"Yes, professor." She recieved the call. A devilish smirk form her lips. Raunak noticed her emotions, it was full of fury abd ager yet she tried to control it.

"Okay, professor. I will asked Anand bhai." She ended the call and looked into his eyes, "Raunak, you need to be a little stronger. You asked a question, you will get your answer so soon."

Then hurriedly she dialled Anand's number, "Bhai handover all those proofs you have against Shalini. It's time to showdown."
