3 – Hello, H

IT was after five in the afternoon when Yna went down to the hibiscus ballroom. By far, it was the biggest ballroom in the hotel. It can accommodate a hundred people.

She found her friend, Carol, commanding her staff. The ballroom’s decoration was a combination of silver and purple.

“Make sure that the light on that table is changed.”

Yna heard Carol before her friend approach her. A wide smile was plastered on the event organizer’s lips.

“Busy day?”

“Yes. Tomorrow’s the wedding of the daughter of an A-list. They, in fact, rented the other two ballrooms.”

“Wow! Good luck.”

“Well, you my friend has to tell me some juicy details,” Carol said as she put her arm around her shoulder. “I heard from my husband that a hottie kissed you.”

“That’s old news.”

“I know but I have to seduce my husband for him to tell me about it.”

“Must be a rough night.”

“Oh, yeah.” Carol smiled at her widely.

Her friend’s husband was one of her sentinels. Though the kissing event happened two days ago, she told the sentinels not to disclose the event, especially to her family. Her father would order a beheading for that androgynous woman.

Her sentinel did not tell her family but he was able to disclose it to his mate. If he did not, Carol will not be giving her an eye at this moment.

“So, how was it?”

Yna shrugged instead of answering her friend.

Carol pulled her out of the ballroom. They rode the elevator. One floor later, they reached the ground floor. Still holding on to her arm, the event organizer guided her to the coffee shop.

When the waiter saw them, they immediately direct them to a table near the glass windows where they could see the cars leaving the hotel.

“May I have your order, Your highness?”

Most of the workers in the hotels were werewolves. If not, they were mated to one. They were also familiar with the young King’s sisters.

“Just orange juice please.”

“Same with me.”

The waiter left them immediately. Carol stared at her waiting for version her of the story. Anticipation was all over her pretty face.

Yna exhaled. Knowing her friend, she will not stop until she tells her the details.

“We kissed. The end.”

“Very funny,” Carol said as she rolled her eyes.

Their order has been served and they were left alone again.

“There is nothing to tell, Carol. Your husband just made a reason for you to seduce him.” Yna said before she sipped from the tall glass of orange juice.

“Well, well. Fancy seeing you again, babe.”

Both women looked at the person who just arrived. The rebuttal that Carol was about to say was halted.

Yna glanced at her friend when the androgynous woman sat beside her.

If she did not know better, she would still perceive her as a man. Today, she wore a black suit. It has no tie but, rather, a cream-colored inner button-down dress shirt.

“What are you doing here?” She asked after giving her a quick look.

“I’m just around the corner. I won’t pass an opportunity not saying hello upon seeing you.”

“You’re done with your hello.”

The handsome woman chuckled and the sound of her laughter reverberate inside Yna’s head.

Carol made a fake cough. Both of them turned to her friend.

“Hi, there. My name is H.”

She showed her dear friend an engaging smile.

Carol reached for her hand. “Hello, H. My name is Carol.”

“Nice to meet you, Carol.”

“Same here. Yna hasn’t told me about you yet.”

The jerk face glanced at her. “I’m hurt, babe.”

“Very funny. Can you please leave us alone?”

“But I like it here, babe.”

H grabbed her arm and embraced it. She pressed her head on her shoulder like a brat asking for an expensive toy.

Carol is laughing at them on the other side of the table. “You’re cute, H.”

“Aww, thank you.”

Yna removed the hands from her arm. She pushed H’s forehead with her index finger from her shoulder.

“I don’t want trouble from any of your women. Leave us in peace.”

“I don’t want to.” H head was back on her shoulder.

Carol chuckled. Her friend sipped from her glass as she watched.

“Princess.” The three of them look at the sentinel. “You have a long-distance call from your brother.”

“Is it urgent?”

The sentinel nodded before handing the mobile phone.

“This is Yna.”

“What is this I hear from the sentinel? And why are you not answering your phone, Ynara?”

“Can I call you back later?”

“You do that.”

With a deep sigh, she returned the cell phone to the sentinel.

The sentinel put the phone back in his pocket. His eyes went to the person beside her. The blasted woman is still plastered on her shoulder!

“Do you want me to do something with the trash, Princess?”

“Hey!” H straightened. “You called me twice with that name. Do you want me to throw you myself?”

“I want to see that happen,” Carol uttered as she continued drinking her juice. “I’ll give you a blow job if you throw that ‘thrash’ in three moves.”

“Hey!”

“That’s my husband, H.”

“Hello, Carol’s husband. My name is H. I can take care of your princess for you.”

“Princess?”

“I can throw the trash myself, Drew.”

The sentinel nodded at her before turning to his wife who was laughing at the young royal’s statement. “I still hold onto your promise, sweetheart.”

He kissed his wife on the lips.

“Laters, baby.”

Carol smirked at them when her husband left. On the other hand, the juice that Yna ordered is already being consumed by the person sitting beside her.

“Would you like to go on a date with me, babe? After all, you have called me ‘trash’.”

“Get in line, H,” Carol responded.

“You would allow me to date you, right, babe?”

Yna looked away before she could see the smirk on the androgynous woman’s face. She must admit that H has a very pretty smile especially when the dimple on her left cheek showed up.

“H, is that you?”

Here we go again. Yna t to herself when another beautiful woman approached them.

“My, my. Georgina Smith, how are you?”

She stood up and embraced the woman. They kissed each other’s cheeks.

“I was calling you the other day.”

“I was in Singapore. I’ll meet you tomorrow at lunch, perhaps?”

“Sure. I have something to consult. I’m sure you have heard about it.”

“I did.”

The gorgeous woman gave them a fleeting look. The smile was still plastered on her face. “A new girl?”

H laughed. “Of course not. I never want a girl, Georgina.”

“She’s different.”

“I know. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Sure.”

H was back in her seat but their eyes were still following Georgina until she disappeared from their line of sight.

“Not your girl, H?”

The handsome woman glanced at Carol. “Your friend is a woman.”

To Yna’s dismay, her good friend smiled with satisfaction. She turned to the woman beside her.

“An old flame?”

“Yeah. She married my best friend.”

“Ouch!”

“Yeah. She got a great guy.”

“Poor you.”

“She doesn’t deserve a womanizing jerk like me.”

“My friend, too. If you love your life, run.”

“Did you see me running, Carol?”

H said that while looking at Yna. She was unsmiling. The princess only blinked in surprise.

Yna swallowed the invisible lump in her throat. She can see something in H’s eyes. Sadness was apparent but she also noticed the longing.

“Princess, I don’t know about you but I want to know what is this that you put me into.”

Yna wanted to close her eyes when a finger caressed her cheek but she was mesmerized by the rawness of the emotions on H’s face that she was unable to shut them.

“See you soon, babe.”

A soft kiss on the lips later, H was gone.

“Wow.”

It was Carol. Her friend’s reaction was a bit late.

Yna swallowed again before facing her friend. Carol was still entranced with what has transpired.

“She’s your mate.” Yna nodded. Carol smiled widely. “I’m happy for you. She needs a few polishing though.”

“You think?”

Her friend laughed. “I do. You have a great looking mate, Princess.”

“And a womanizer, too.”

“Tell me about it.”

She took a deep breath before telling her friend how they first meet. Carol finally got what she was asking for.
