Chapter Six [ Eluding]

Chapter Six [Eluding]

Rudolf turned to Rhoda and said, "I'm again distracted by those street dwellers beyond the fence, honey."

"They're my countrymen, but we've learned to be wary of them, and even though they're pitiful, we take a lot of precautions to handle these situations with authority!" Rhoda replied.

While the rescuers listened and watched the gypsy, Rhoda changed. She had already removed her Rose disguise when someone recognized Rudolfs’family.

"I wonder whether they recognize you now as Rhoda," Rudolf joked, adding,

"They're after you, honey!"

"My gosh!” Rhoda abruptly exclaimed.

"They're all over the place like ants," Rudolf added, chuckling softly as he held Rhoda in one hand and Robert in the other, and they quickly hid from view.

Rhoda asks Rudolf, "Honey, what are we going to do now?" "Allow the workout to be unrestricted.

In jest, he continues, "Ants will be everywhere. They are workaholics."

One of the rescued squad name Ding interrupted.

"Sir Wagner, come with me; we've prepared a temporary safe private room for your family. "

Rudolf dons his bonnet as the helicopter touches down, asking Rhoda to cover her naked head as she attempts to protect baby Robert from the scorching June sun that late afternoon.

"Here we go!"

They say as they trace the modest, brief way walk.

"Thank you so much, please accept our modest gifts,"

As the hero exclaims the family hurries in, Rhoda dis-creetly giving him a dollar for his lunch as she swiftly locks the door.

"They're in social turmoil as a result of the current pandemic scenario,"

Rudolf screams as he considers the Filipinos who labor hard for basic requirements but yet can't make ends meet. He chuckles and warns Rhoda,

"Better fasten the door knob and make sure no one grabs your spouse and child again."

Rhoda shakes her head as she looks at him, attempting to gauge his capacity to take care of her and the kids in the fu-ture despite his ailments.

"It's dusky, and people won't know us if we go out for din-ner.We'll make sure no one recognizes us, and I'll wear my other camouflage," Rhoda proposes.

"You try to cover your bare head like an Islamic with a long robe, and I use a shawl to cover my head and faces," Rhoda recommends adding,

”I’m starving with our son honey. Let’s find a restaurant here!”

Rhoda enquires after setting their first belongings on the small, dusty cupboard. She picked out the most recent clothing she had left over after fleeing and gave it to her husband while also attending to her newborn's fresh diaper.

"Honey, this is a US military installation,"

Rudolf explained as he instructs Rhoda,

"All you have to do is wear a black cap and a long light jacket." Rhoda carries her baby and gazes at his innocent, cute face as she says,

"Baby, we're going to have dinner; now that you're two years old and starting to walk, my sweetie pie," Rhoda says to Robert as they walk slowly down the dark, narrow path to the entrance gate. As they reach the lit area where people can enjoy fluorescent light posts to each other's faces plain-ly, Rhoda asks Rudolf.

"Do you recognize those folks inside the restaurant?" Rhoda turns Rudolf around. Rudolf answers gently,

"No, I'm new here! Why?” He asks.

"I saw them in Manila,"

she replies, but Rudolf wants to know where she saw them. "They've been my neighbors in Manila since I was a youngster," Rhoda says.

Rudolf smiles and offers his advice, "Ah, maybe you're just paranoid. Just let them know we're here. Nothing else," as they continue to move forward slowly with their kid being guided by their hands.

"Take it or leave it," Rudolf continues, "your people will be everywhere we go. We simply accept them as they are and try our best to help them."

As Rhoda and Rudolf walk out the door, they are greeted. "You see," Rudolf adds, "they have nothing to do with us."

"Hey, my little baby, You may sit in the baby's chair now," Rhoda instructs her two-year-old son as they climb the food chain and select the family dining table furniture. The service team offers their own baby tools so Baby Robert may sit comfortably. Rhoda excitedly informs Rudolf that his two-year-old birthday is tonight at midnight.

"Let's plan a small celebration for our 2-year-old Roberts' birthday!" Rhoda cried eagerly. "Waiter, we need a special menu for my baby's birthday!" Rudolf exclaimed delightfully.

After a while, Rudolf recalls the unpleasant history when he first hurts his family stating,

"I'm sorry, Honey," he sobbed adding,

"I had no idea it was you," he said.

"Yes,"

Rhoda remarked, "because you're not really interested in getting to know me right now because you prefer your life with Josie." She taunted eyes rolling to show her annoyance at his past attitudes. But she only likes to teach him a lesson about how hurt he has done to her after their wedding celebrations.

Rudolf's eyes flood up again with tears. Rhoda shrieked and locked her attention on Rudolf. "I had no idea you were so whiney, Honey," she taunted. "I adore you," Rudolf de-clares. "I thought you'd know we'd be in danger," Rudolf said, "and I was entrapped by their theater attack."

"Of course," she says. "Are we already on good terms?" he asks.

"You are granted the privilege of being forgiven as long as we live by faith, hope, and love with one another with the Lord,” she shouted beaming.

“Come on honey, you should know who I am by now," Rhoda says, gazing into his eyes.

"I believe in miracles, as God says,

‘Turn evil to good, don’t overcome evil with evil, but conquer evil with good,’ and I love you, love covers a multitude of sins,"

Baby Robert likes his toys from the giveaway promotion while Rhoda freely participates in the conversation. The family also invited the surrounding, hungry street people to share the meal they had prepared for Robert's 2nd birthday party.

After a short while, the family peacefully moves back into the new, unfinished home that the old Rudolf rescue team had offered.

Rhoda kissed first Rudolf on the lips as they entered the private room, and they went to bed with the baby. Rhoda told Rudolf, "We rarely do it." Rudolf said,

"Yes, it's true." Rudolf added as he was about to close his eyes, "I have to oblige you to do your duty and you fulfill me."

He could tell Rhoda was exhausted after a few days, so he closed his eyes and went to sleep. Rudolf teases Rhoda as she turns off the light,

"Are you trying to say that I'm neglecting you?" Rhoda burst out laughing,

"Be sure the door is tightly locked; the thief may assault us and rob me again from you." As he holds Rhoda and gazes at her baby, Rudolf smiles and giggles softly.

In the morning, both of them are awake but not yet out of bed, and the baby grasps his mother's nipple for milk. Rudolf teases his kid by grasping the mother's nipple, and the two of them love playing with her breast.

"Ah you both are dreadful to me," Rhoda shouted as Rudolf looked to compete with the baby for the mother's milk until the baby sobs and Rudolf watches Robert as he on his mother's breast.

Rudolf chuckles and clutches his infant closely as he sees Rhoda’s' disgust. Rudolf was requested to say a brief prayer of thanks and worship to God Almighty for gifting them with a lovely boy and for the love they shared, including the hardships and barriers they had to conquer in order to teach each of them a lesson they would never forget.

Rhoda's heart seemed to be filled with a hazy panic sensation clouded by murky images from her blurry memories of past battles.

"Wife, we've begun to move forward and get out of this agony," Rudolf informed Rhoda.

She, on the other hand, would seize any opportunity when Rudolf and Robert were close by to show them the love of a mother and wife.

"We're fighting for freedom in the midst of our hardships, but be brave and sensible at all times, and always defend your steps, grip on, and take courage because I'll be with you till the finish line," Rudolf told Rhoda.

The rescuers planned to fly the family out of the Philippines in a bigger aircraft. The employees of the US Base provided the family with valid travel passports and a budget to keep them afloat in the event of an emergency.

Rudolf makes the most of every opportunity to absorb the grandeur of the surroundings while they are awaiting their flights. He is thrilled to have a Filipino family with her and determined to pursue their relationship indefinitely.

Momentarily, Rhoda is still under attack from her defects. Rather than celebrating the reunification of her family, she has been short-sighted and annoyed as she pulls her baby closer to his father's squat. She has faith in God, but she does not have faith in the things that have happened to her since she started her marriage.

The family relaxes in the early morning hours while enjoying the lovely, sunny weather. The fresh air helps Baby Robert picture the swaying, green summer leaves becoming brown as they hit the earth.

His father is unaware of her mother's struggles because he enjoys holding him in his arms. At the same time, his mother is purging her unpleasant emotions and disgusted, unbalanced character as a result of her changing hormones and postpartum depression added to stressful events that were brought on by their eluding from past issues.

As soon as he noticed Rhoda was silent, Rudolf tried to ask about her mood.

"How are you today, honey? Isn't life a voyage?" Rudolf's enthusiasm to face problems and risk, carelessness about the challenges that lie ahead, enchants Rhoda.

When Rudolf is not paying attention to her, she behaves in a way that makes her look unpleasant despite the fact that her face looks dreadful. She quickly transforms into a dazzling, cheerful mode, which she is aware is caused by her hormonal imbalance.

She believes that her family's existence is still one of a fugitive, a family that flees dreadful things.

"I never imagined a family that was constantly eluding strife. As God instructed us through His teachings in the Bible, we should have learned how to deal with every situation and take action to conquer it.”

While waiting for the squads to approach, Rhoda sighs gently as her husband and son play together and giggle.

Rhoda unexpectedly passed out after a while as she was walking close to the plane with Rudolf and the infant Robert.

Rudolf softly asks, "What specifically is your problem, hon-ey dear? " making sure to grasp her before she falls to the ground. Rhoda’s' eyes rolled and her lovely, youthful face turned pale, muttering,

Rhoda said in such a low voice that she was unable to understand till she passed out. "Everything around me looks too gloomy, and lights sparkle in my naked eyes. I cannot breathe and I feel so nauseous, honey."

Rudolf let Robert down and carried his weak mother across the dusty ground carefully using his entire body.

Robert's cheeks flushed and he screamed,

"Mommy, mommy!" Rudolf carried Rhoda's body to safer ground while grieving. Rudolf also sobbed during this process.

Robert squatted in his normal position and cried, "Mommy!" again.

While Robert's mother was unresponsive, the rescuers nearby tried to quickly calm him down. Rudolf is told by the rescuers that

"Let's get her checked out first. On the left side of the office," he continues,

"there's a medical facility." Rudolf takes her to the clinic for an emergency check-up.

As he finishes with Rhoda, the doctor remarks,

"The patient is safe and sound but needs a little rest." As Rudolf takes Robert in his arms, Rudolf thinks,

"What's up with my wife?"

"She's positive with her early pregnancy," the doctor explains, "but we need more information to identify the stage of her pregnancy fully."

With surprise in his eyes, Rudolf remarked,

"This beats me!" as he turns to his son Robert and gives him a tender hug.

The doctor said, "I'll give you a prescription for her protection and health care till she flowers."

"Thank you very much, it's truly incredible!" Rudolf exclaimed, smiling and lovingly kissing Robert.

Rhoda wakes up after an hour of sleep, joyfully thanking God for the gift of life after learning of her early pregnancy through a positive pregnancy test.

"Should our flight be rescheduled or what?" Rhoda inquires hastily.

"I'm dying to go home, Wife," Rudolf said, adding,

"this will be a huge challenge, but I'm thrilled to have another kid with you!" Rudolf said swiftly as he hugged Robert and smiled repeatedly.
