Chapter 2: The Rebirth of Fafir's Army

As Fafir and Monnie leave the cave and continue on their way. The red-headed girl can't get that horrendous image of that archer girl out of her mind. Such viscous and cruel detail was engrained into the poor girl's memory forever or so it seemed. Fafir was a few inches ahead of her and tilted his head towards the air. He sniffed several times so he could get a read on where his missing men might be. Trapped in her own thoughts Monnie bumped into the tall man.

Fafir looked down at her and could tell something was bothering her. He ceased his search for a brief moment and caressed her hand softly and gently. Monnie internally hesitated and looked off to the side. She didn't really know what to think anymore. "What was a girl like her when doing with a beast like him?" She thought. "Shh..There there my sweet. Our troubles will soon be over. We'd just first have to pick up the pieces hehe. Come nightfall slowly approaches and I already detected a few runaways in this direction. Ready yourself. We may need your head in the game." Fafir ordered. For now Monnie would place those feelings on the back burner. She nodded and followed Fafir to their next mission.

The night slowly crept up on the couple leaving them soon in total darkness. Fafir wasn't really fazed by this. Neither was Monnie. They traveled by foot to a run down shack. It lay waste in the midst of a abandoned road. "Interesting this is strange no one has even driven on this road for decades. Rumors were a old woman was molested and killed here. Not only that but her home was burned to the ground. Stay on your guard Monnie. We must be ready for anything." Fafir said as he inched closer and closer to the abandoned shack. Monnie was a little frighten as to what was happening. She didn't really understand why her and Fafir were doing this. None of it made sense.

"Hmm..it smells like...mold and dust even. Seems no one had touched this place about as long as the old woman's death. Maybe longer. Either way. I'll check this cellar I found. You stay and explore up here." Fafir said as he noticed a chain holding the two cellar doors shut. It wasn't even a difficult thing for him. He effortlessly ripped the ancient chains away form the doors and slowly walked into the blackened room down below.

"I hope I'm of used. Faffy. Mmm..please hurry. I hate places like this. Guess'll just search for anything that may seem odd. " The redhead girl mumbled to herself. Fafir slowly crept through the cellar's cramped halls. His wide framed made it sort of difficult to even navigate but by brute force he made due. The Beast God closed his eyes and smelled for anything that could even remotely resemble a living being and right his nose was. In a deeper level of the moldy and old basement Fafir could hear..crying of sorts. It sounded more like whimpering if anything. Fafir bravely walked towards the sound. It grew louder and louder by each step until..it ceased.

Unafraid Fafir maintained his cool and was as silent as ever. For someone so heavy and big, The Beast God was agile and on his toes. He was a quick thinker and a fast learner. The whimpering started again after Fafir inched a few more feet forward. What he found was unexpected.

"Hmm..so this is what was hiding around here. How quaint." Fafir said unamused. A few of his closest worshippers dressed in maroon robes followed by being covered by mud bowed before him. They each looked to their god and begged for his forgiveness. The leader of this motley little group rosed to one knee and removed their hood. It was a woman with pale white skin and long black hair. She was slender in appearance. Almost ghoulish even. Her guant cheekbones and bags under her eyes were fully exposed. Fafir nearly wretched by the sight of this hideous woman.

She spoke with a raspy voice that could possibly tear even sandpaper. Fafir's ears were offended every time she spoke. "My great..Beast King..you have returned unto..usssss. Please..use me as your vessel..so that when the day comes. I..I will do you honor. " The skinny woman said as she freaked even Fafir out. He placed a hand over her head and nervously smiled.

"I do not remember you my dear, but I do remember a woman that strongly resembled you centuries ago. Her name was Ellenden. She was a great warrioress,a heroine even. A woman of peace and even one of great reverence. Oh how I miss those days." Fafir lamented. The woman that knelt before him was confused. She felt the weight of his heavy hand rest on her head. She dare not try to move it as Fafir was known for his many egregious acts. Horrible even. Fafir looked down at the woman and asked her name.

"Tell me my child. What is your name. Not only so I may know, but the others may know as well." Fafir asked as he looked at the others. Assuming this was a mini cult of sorts Fafir was immediately put off by such practices. He figured if these people were followers of his,he'd have to discipline them severely. "My name your Beastliness..my name is Eya..I remember you when I was but a wee little girl. Have you forgotten the times when I prayed and you answered my cries?" The woman asked. "Have you forgotten the times of deepest darkness when I begged for mercy from my enemies and You..yes YOU my Beast King came in and saved me!" The woman proclaimed. Fafir removed his hand and folded his arms.

"Does any of you have the same faith, dedication and spirit as this woman has? If not, then heed her teachings. I shall call her wise amongst you and you all will call her Beloved Eya. Now that introductions are out of the way. Come. The time of rebuilding what was destroyed has begun." Fafir commanded. The older woman held onto Fafir's hand and got on one knee again.

"Forgive such boldness and stupidity my lord, but..I'm afraid I won't be..be of much service to you. I hate to admit it,but my bones and body are old and my speed is reduce greatly, yet my heart, body and soul are as strong as ever. Please have mercy on me." Eya said and she struggled to balance herself. Fafir could see she wasn't lying. For the first time. He felt pity and figured if he could help then he would.

"I will strengthen your bones and youth will be restored unto you Eya,for your years of service unto me. I will render your LEAST effective disciple in your place." Fafir smirked. Shock filled the room Fafir's grey eyes glowed. The old woman begged Fafir not to do something as merciless as that, but her pleas fell on death ears. "Found you, now surrender your soul unto me. So that my greatest warrior may be healed of her hideous disposition. " Fafir chuckled

A grey beam lit up the whole room. In a blink of a eye. All those present were unharmed. Their robes were now clean and Fafir stood tall. He easily towered over them and smiled. The robed figures looked over to were Eya was standing and noticed she looked remarkably younger and more beautiful than ever before. They were confused. Another robed figure bowed to one knee before Fafir. They asked what was that ability he showed.

"My dear girl. I simply remembered Eya's great-great-great grandmother and stole her youth. She only died when she was twenty-two years of age due to her husband poisoning her after she was found sleeping with another woman and man. Such nefarious deeds did not go unpunished. For you see The Death God placed her into the fiery abyss for all eternity. " Fafir laughed.

The others were in shock by his story and pleaded for their lives. They each sobbed uncontrollably and cried to their hearts content. Fafir had them follow him back upstairs. Once their weeping was done Fafir introduce the strange group to his girlfriend Monnie who was skeptical of Eya if anything.

"She's too pretty my love. You remember our promise don't you?" Monnie said annoying Fafir. Eya spoke in his place. She was genuinely offended by such boldness and the sheer audacity. "Yield and humble yourself girl!! You talk to the future ruler of Neo!! Have you no shame or any respect!! He is a god!! And you are a mere mortal. Humble yourself again I say!!" The black haired woman shouted. Fafir calmed her down by a wave of his hand. He kissed Monnie on her cheek and smiled.

"Ease your scepter Eya. I know Monnie means no harm, but we cannot avoid the mission at hand,we must find the filthy runaway subordinates that abandoned me when the Red Palace was attacked. Let it be known now to the limited few that follow me. Any who runaway are cowards, worthless, castaways and not fit to roam into the new world I have in store for us. " Fafir claimed. He and his little group did find mere soliders of his old ranks not too far away, but nothing else least not yet.

" Ah I see about twenty solders at least are here Faffy? How awesome is that?" Monnie said as they all walked back towards the campsite. It was now in the dead of night. The moon of Neo was at its peak its calming blue glow gave great comfort to Fafir and his band of misfits. As soon as they approached camp. Each soldier or follower of Fafir was ordered by Eya and Monnie to set up tents and starting a fire. Fafir manage to teach some of the unnamed and unoccupied few how to hunt and cook. They thank him for his kindness and laugh with glee.

Fafir stood to his feet and made a announcement." I would like you all to know that it is I and I alone who can rule and it is I who will usher us into a new age. Not this confounded age of corruption, confusion and even blatant sinning, but of a age of PEACE,HARMONY and undying LOYALTY towards one another. My words for you all are this; from this day forward, since you in robes and those that are soldiers have declared yourselves to me,you shall be respectively be renamed from Fafir Soldiers to something more.

You will be called Arch-Men and Arch-Women of Fafir. As for those who specialize in the arcane arts, to me you shall be call the Shepards. It is your and the Archten's responsibility to scout, search for those willing to serve and punish those who defy me. As for us as a whole. What shall we be called? Oh yes..We will be called The Rebirthing Army, The Archten of Fafir, The BEGINNING OF THE END!! Even better we will be the USHERS OF THE NEW WORLD!!" Fafir shouted. Those of his new Archten army shouted and proclaimed their undying worship, love and loyalty to Fafir. Though they were small now in number soon more would rise.
