Chapter 24 Part IV

“Mr. Pongket!”

“I promise that in ten minutes I’ll put it down and do everything that you tell me to,” he replied.

The young woman shook her head wearily. She walked over to pick up a tub and prepare it to give him a sponge bath. When she walked back out again with the tub and looked at him without moving, the sick person stopped working, folding up his laptop and putting it down at his side.

Sakunthara looked at him with a tight expression. “Why are you sitting and working when you have this high of a fever? Can’t it wait until later?” she asked as she unbuttoned his pajamas to wipe him down.

“It’s my duty and direct responsibility. I have to make sure it comes out the best it can.”

“Don’t you love yourself at all?”

“Work gives me value.”

The young woman looked up to meet his eyes. “You love it more than you love yourself.”

“It’s a true friend to me. However much I dedicate to it will equal what it gives back to me.”
