The ordinary world is not what it seems.
Many strange events unfold in the background but go unnoticed by the masses or are covered up.
A supernatural world exists along with the natural world which can only be seen by those called Balancers.
Spirits and Evil Spirits exist along with Balancers who possess unique powers to see and fight them.
Among the many ordinary humans, a girl undergoes a lot of suffering and experiences a prophetic vision.
It grants her knowledge of the hidden world and of some future events.
The girl loses almost everything she has and then takes the steps needed to become a Balance Breaker.
Her past identity has to be abandoned for the sake of survival so she renamed herself Ash.
Ash gains the powers of a Skin-Walker and begins living in such a world taking on the appearances of others, experiencing their lives and living under the mask of another person.

Breaker: From A Nobody To A Villainess

Ash tried to tell herself to not hold back against the Spirit but she could not fully commit to it when she was confronted with such a scenario where she was the one in power bringing down harm upon something powerless to defend itself.

It sparked some uncomfortable memories about her past once again and it made her feel like she was no better than the people who abused her.

Such thoughts and conflicts within herself caused her to not put everything into her second strike like she was holding herself back a little.

A single moment of hesitation caused her strike to slow down for a single moment which would allow the creature to get away. "Gu!"

She could see it escaping from her swing during the final moment that it was about to make contact.

Ash felt foolish for letting herself get caught in such a conflict within herself.

She thought that she already prepared herself enough but it seemed that was not the case.

Spirit Hunting
