"Young Master is truly a genius of the heavens. To become an Emperor Realm in such a short time is nothing short of remarkable. I would be honored if you allow me to show you back to the Palace." The Vice-City Lord's wife said, in an honoring and surprised tone. "This young man really managed to break through… He even has more control over it than most others at this realm. A shame I don't have a daughter to marry him. Maybe… it's possible to hope for the future." She thought.
Her face was clearly struggling to hide the thoughts she had in her mind. Yang Kai noticed that she was thinking something. It would be hard to hide something from him in this world after all.
"Feng Yin, Bai Yi, do you think that woman is planning something? She seems to be thinking about something quite deeply." Yang Kai whispered to the two of them.
"Oh her, I think she is just thinking about marrying her daughter to Leiji." Feng Ying said, after taking a casual look.
"She doesn't have a daughter though. How could she marry a daughter to him if she has none." Yang Kai said, confused for a moment.
"Then perhaps it's her disciple? Unless the draw of gaining a leg up into your family is so enticing that she would be thinking of having another child just for that purpose." Bai Yi said, way too casually and even, I, heard it.
"I would never! That would go against my principles. I will never accept such an arrangement. It is a terrible reason to conceive. Such things should not even be considered." I snapped quickly.
"Well there you have it then. And I agree. I had a somewhat similar situation when I was your age, Son. Her name is Zhang Ruo Xi, and even though she was a generation under her family still tried to marry her to me. She now calls me Uncle Yang, and she loves to listen to stories. Perhaps you two will get along." Yang Kai said, chuckling.
We all landed and began following the Vice-City Lord's Wife to the Central Mansion. The City was bustling and only stopped to make way for us. It was a natural instinct of sorts. And then a couple of the children running around and handing out flowers ran right up to Yang Kai. Their eyes filled with awe, and inspiration.
"World Master! World Master! We give these flowers out to all the couples in the city. And we want to give you some. Will you take them?" One of the children said, showing the selection.
"Hmm… this is something you came up with, is that right, Son? It's quite interesting, the children have no innate fear of the strength I have." Yang Kai asked, patting a couple of the children's heads.
"Indeed, it serves as another reminder to the public that the couple is formed. And it makes the woman feel precious, desired and sought after. Go on, put the one you think will look best on mother Bai and mother Feng. It has no real special purpose other than a token of one's affection. But it is still nice to give something to your woman and see their smile. A feeling I wanted all men to have. And the feeling of receiving a gift from the man a woman loves, While I can't say I know that feeling myself. I'd imagine it to be a similar Incredible feeling." I answered, picking out two silver lotus, and handing the children some money. "You see, the mortals are the ones who grow these and tend to them. So the money they receive goes to feed their families. And we as cultivators should respect and protect them. Remembering them in any small way we can." I added, smiling.
I went back and pinned the lotus in Huo Lei's and Xiu Che's hair. This time they were both prepared for it. And decided to wear their hair in a way to accept the lotus properly. Nesting the flower in, quite nicely.
"Husband chose to find the one that matches our earrings this time." Huo Lei said, with a smile and then looked at Xiu Che.
"Sister Huo Lei, you look absolutely gorgeous." Xiu Che said, with a beautiful smile.
"Sister Xiu Che, looks just as gorgeous. The only thing missing is a matching necklace." Huo Lei said, holding a hand to her chest lacking the necklace she desired.
"I agree, but we shouldn't push, Husband, too much. After all, he is attempting to prepare for the future." Xiu Che said, mimicking Huo Lei. Then the two of them smirked and looked at me with a piercing gaze.
"What did I say earlier, Father? I told you this would happen." I laughed.
"That you did. But now that I have seen this tradition you have had the people begin with in action. I'm even more impressed. I like this, as it is something all of my people can share. Something that connects us all… this is fate…" Yang Kai said, with a slight weariness. "Oh wow, so even something as simple as that can become like this… Truly astonishing. I wonder how strong an effect this will have in the future? Only time… will tell… Hmm, a second headache. That's quite the effect you created for me, Son. I already feel a bit stronger." He added, picking Golden Royal Lilies.
Bai Yi and Feng Ying were noticeably confused by the tradition at first but then they felt something when Yang Kai picked the flower they had both been eyeing. Bai Yi started giggling.
"Leiji, you really know too much. I understand now why you made this." Feng Ying said, holding back the praise.
"Ahahaha, Mother Feng gives me far too much credit. I know not what you speak of. I simply wanted to provide another wholesome tradition. It was Huo Lei who inspired this idea." I said, with a chuckle. "Now then it's time we make our way to the Central Mansion. Mother-in-law is almost there. And I'm sure it would mean a lot if we were there on time." I added, wrapping an arm around each of my wives.
