Chapter 3 Chapter

Kaylan had suddenly lost appetite after hearing the unpleasant news as immediately, she stood up and left her meal.

"Hey! Where are you going?" One of Crystal's friend asked teasingly.

"Oh! Come back, darling. Don't go" Another mimicked and they all laughed.

Kaylan - as usual - ignored them and ran off in search of a quiet place.

So many eyes kept boring into her and the tiny voices and laughters were disturbing.

You're Kaylan Richardson - the Hunter's daughter, the daughter of the greatest enemy of the Werewolves.

That invisible voice kept replaying in her head, almost making her want to cry.

Her breath was becoming erratic as she panted heavily and just needed a place to scream. Oh! But she was locked up and that was so so impossible.

She was already whimpering by the time she found an empty room to stay and instantly, she lowered herself to the floor and bursted into frustrating tears.

"No..." She whimpered on her legs which were huddled up.

Hot scalding tears came rolling down her cheeks and dropping to her eyes as she wept in agony.

"You're Kaylan Richardson - the Hunter's daughter - the daughter of the greatest enemy of the Werewolves".

But it wasn't her fault! She wept. It wasn't her fault!

Oh mother, where are you?

She could remember clearly - the day she became a loser.

Her Mother was a stubborn Werewolf Hunter who was well known in the Werewolf world as their most dreaded enemy.

She fought and killed a lot of Wolves because she believed they were evil and shouldn't be found in existence. She had taken it as her top priority to destroy every Werewolf until the world would be free from them.

Kaylan, being a simple girl who grew up in a broken home, had to follow her mother's footsteps. She's never killed any Wolf but most times, she used her mother's techniques in fighting then off - whenever she was attacked.

Her mother had formed an association of Werewolf hunters and this association had tormented and killed a lot of Wolves. Most nights, they were always put in the woods - hunting.

Her mother's name - Sapphire - was always ringing on the lips of the Werewolves as they feared and hated her so much.

And finally, few days ago, they succeeded. Yes, they were attacked.

Her mother had been out hunting with a few others when some of them returned, panting and yelling that they were under attack. Before they could think of running away, the Wolves showed up and set the place on fire, killing as many as they could.

Kaylan couldn't understand how they'd been able to get them - how they'd been able to get pass their defenses and plan such attack.

She ran along with the others as fast as she could into the woods - many were caught, but she was able to run away.

She could remember sitting and crying in the woods because she hadn't even seen her mother before her death. Where could she be? Could it be possible she had been killed in the woods - she thought painfully.

The woods were so dark and frightful and not having so much experience about hiding and all, she was caught and drugged.

The next morning, she had woken up to find herself in the strange place - a place they called Babylon Hall - and she was made to understand she was only there for sale.

She's been expecting it - knew a day would come when she'd have to be sold out. But now that it's so close, she couldn't help but panic. What if Alpha Zane picks her? She's heard of his cruelty and heard of his inhumane behavior. If he gets to see her the following day, would he just pass her by and pick someone else?

Goodness! What will become of her?

*

Her face was completely stained with tears when tbe door went open, warranting her to lift her head to have a look.

God! Not again! The gate keeper!

She sniffed and bent her head again.

"Hey, girlie. What're you doing here alone?" He asked with a streak or sadism in his voice - a voice Kaylan hated a lot.

He sniggered as he walked towards her and touched her shoulder.

"Don't touch me" she snapped with a sharp lift of her head.

Her eyes were sore and bloodsh!t red, due to the excessive crying.

"Woah! Calm down, okay? I've told you countlessly - this attitude of yours will not help you here" he sniggered and touched her again and she quivered.

"Please, just let me go. I want to be alone. Please" she whimpered, more tears streaking her cheeks .

If he was someone with Sympathy, he'd have felt pity for her.

"Oh! Come on, girlie. We can make it quick. Just give it to me and I'll make the other girls stop bullying you" he stated grimly and touched her knee, but she moved back.

He dropped to a crouch and tried pulling her by the legs so her back would touch the floor.

"No!! Let me go please! Stay away from me" she whimpered but he wasn't listening.

Instead, an evil grin was on his face as he drew her leg forcefully and made her back hit roughly on the floor

"Argh!" Kaylan shrieked.

There was a bottle beside them and immediately, she took up the botte and landed it straight on his head without thinking of the consequences.
