Elias was moved to the ward since his vitals were normal. He was still weak, though. Chas stationed two police officers in the ward, while Joseph's guards were dispersed across the hospital. Even doctors and nurses were not allowed to enter the ward without being thoroughly screened.


When Oscar came to see Elias, Samuel also accompanied him. They entered the ward and found Elias lying on the bed with his eyes closed. His legs were still plastered over. On the right side of his forehead, he had a deep scar. It would remain as a stark reminder of that horrible accident.


Oscar’s eyes dimmed as he watched him. He approached the sickbed and patted his head as he called him softly, “Elias.”


Elias slowly opened his eyes and looked up at him. Tears welled up the moment he saw Oscar. “Uncle… Dad is…”


He couldn’t complete his sentence as his voice died down his throat.
