Chapter 10 CH 10: About Him

Seeing Amanda not responding to her confession, Sasha felt a little embarrassed. She paused for awhile thinking of what else to say.

She thought perhaps making friends with Amanda is not a bad idea. They are about the same age where Sasha is only two years older than Amanda.

Amelia often talks about Amanda and how much she adores her niece. It seems to Sasha that perhaps Amanda is a gentle and friendly person. But today it proves she is wrong. She is arrogant and stubborn.

Amanda is a private person indeed that does not like to talk much. 'Maybe not to me' Sasha thought.

After her break up with Alaric, she moved out from Knight Mansion to live with Emilio. She thought things were going great between her and Emilio but he got bored with her. The next thing she remembered was being asked to move out from his private penthouse residence.

Sasha stayed at the nearby motel and was lucky to find a job with Amelia Lockhart many months later. Her next option was to shamelessly move back to the Knight Estate with her Wolf pack. It would be awkward to face Alaric again.

She heard he moved on fast with Margot from Becky. Amanda is still in touch with Becky who has been a good friend to her since she left the Knight Mansion. A feeling of jealous came, after knowing that Alaric enjoyed being with Margot than he was with Sasha. A tear escaped Sasha's eyes.

Lifting her fingers slowly, she wiped it off her face. Sasha needs to be strong. One day she is bound to meet Alaric again. He is still her Alpha which she has to serve when required.

Tonight might be the night they will meet again after two years being separated from him. 'Perhaps I could find a way to avoid this dinner invitation' she thought and hoping she could find a solution too.

It was kind of strange for the Knight family to invite the rich families of Hill View Town for a dinner invitation at their huge estate. "Something is not right. Alaric hates hosting parties" Sasha said unconsciously not realising it caught Amanda's attention to her.

"What do you mean?" Amanda asked with concerns in her voice. For the past couple of minutes in the silent car, she was thinking of ways to avoid the Alpha, who she gave a deadly shot on his leg.

'Is he coming to get me? Does he know who I am? Tommy did mention the Wolves could trace her scent. How the hell am I going to change my body scent? Perfume? Maybe I should cover my body with poo' she sighed in frustration of this little problem she is facing.

"The Alpha is not that friendly like his late father. Since his father died, the Knight Estate is closed to public other than his Wolf pack. It is strange that all of a sudden, he is opening the door to his Estate again. It is a huge place that can sustain by itself. Amazing view as well" a smile was formed on Sasha's lips recalling those days where Alaric would bring her along his tour of the Estate.

She suddenly missed him. If only she could restraint herself from falling for Emilio back then, she would have still be happy being together with Alaric eventhough she knows he is still searching for his lost Luna. Sighing away, Sasha turned to look outside from the window of the moving car.

"Is he what they call.. your Mate? You mentioned you were with him. Can an Alpha be with other woman than his own Mate? I'm confused about this. Also.." Amanda turned to look at Sasha who also turned her head to face Amanda.

"Why are you not with your Wolf pack? Why are you working with us? We are Human. I find this odd" Amanda asked while staring into Sasha's brown eyes with thick eyelashes. She wants to see if Sasha is lying from her eye movement.

Smiling at how their conversation getting more interesting, Sasha was happy to explain. She is not embarrassed anymore on what she did in the past. The way of healing her soul from her mistakes done in the past, is to accept what she did was wrong and move on with her life. A self-actualisation.

"Alpha Alaric lost his Luna many years ago. I'm not really sure on what actually happened between him and his Luna. But, he never stop looking for her. It seems like.. he loves her" Sasha paused to think on how she can continue with the story.

"Well, it was a long wait looking for her while at the same time he has a Werewolf pack of more than a hundred to manage. The Knight Estate is like a mini town itself where the Hill View Wolf pack lives. When he took the role as the new Alpha after his father died six years ago, he kind of stop looking for her for awhile and.. you know.. men has needs. Sexual needs. He chose me after many had satisfied him before me" Sasha smiled a little.

"Alaric may have many women warming his bed but once he likes someone, he can be a monogamist" Sasha wiped a few tears that escaped her eyes, "I cheated on him. It was wrong of me to betray him like that. I fell for Emilio and left Alaric. I hurt him"

Amanda's eyes widen hearing this for the first time. She was a little speechless. It was hard to believe this innocent and kind average looking woman cheated on a drop dead gorgeous Alpha.

"I was from the Purple River pack who Alaric once defeated as a revenge to his father's death. He spared some of our lives to swore loyalty to his Wolf pack. You see.. I never felt that connection with this new pack I'm in. Even though Alaric made me feel safe, I just felt like an outsider. It kind of ruined our blossoming relationship" Sasha sighed deeply.

"But now, I realised.. he is the one man that made me feel safe and loved. I took that for granted. I was drown with lust over Emilio. He is good at seducing women. Please.. be careful. He gets bored with his conquest easily" Sasha smiled and hope Amanda could accept their friendship. She truly cares for Amanda and hopes Emilio won’t hurt her too.

"I know. I can handle Emilio. I'm not a monogamist" Amanda smiled at Sasha and they both laughed a little. “Really, I don’t.. believe in love. It is all a temporary chemical reaction to the brain and your (she when to whisper) private parts down there”

Sasha gasped and let out a loud laugh as she saw Amanda was just teasing her.

But, it was truly what Amanda thought about love. She does not believe in one true love.

"To me.. this is just a casual relationship with Emilio. I like him.. maybe lust for him. But, I don't love him. I'm just having fun while it last. I'm finishing my studies in few months time. Then, I'm moving elsewhere to work with Lockhart group of companies outside Morevar. I'm not staying in this town forever. So, don't worry about me. I can take care of myself" Amanda shared some truth to her plan but not the whole truth. Just enough for Sasha to trust her for now.

"You are a strong woman, Amanda. I admire you. I wish I could be that strong too. Maybe I can learn from you on how to be a strong and confident woman.. like you" Sasha said with full of admiration.

"As for your question on why I'm working with a Human, well.. I'm half Human myself. My mother was a Human who submit herself to a Werewolf she was in love with. He turned her. Marking her to be his. I'm not that strong. I could not fight most of the she-wolves of Hill View Wolf pack. But, Alaric liked me. He took care of me. But, I betrayed him" Sasha sighed sadly.

"Don't blame yourself for it. Perhaps you are meant to be with someone else. What happened to your own Mate?" Amanda asked before reaching her home. They are almost there to enter Lockhart's Mansion.

"He died in the war between our Pack and Alaric's Wolf Warriors. It was a painful experience losing your Mate. I almost wanted to kill myself for losing him. It was like losing half of my soul. I loved him. But, I moved on finding ways to be strong again" Sasha felt relieved to be able to share her story with Amanda.

"You'll find your soulmate. You just have to be open for many possibilities. Date more men. There are many single men out there who I'm sure would be attracted to your looks. But first, we need to fix your style. New hairstyle maybe. Maybe one day we could go to that famous Becky Salon in town for a quick makeover. Amelia seems to like it. What do you say?" Amanda thought perhaps she could be nicer to Sasha. She seems to know a lot of useful knowledge about Alpha Alaric.

Amanda needs to learn about Alaric so she can avoid him or fight him if one day when they cross path again. The first step is to know your enemy just like how it seems like what Alaric is doing to her right now.

'Game on, Alaric Ryan Knight' Amanda smiled to herself. ‘I’m going to drive you crazy’
