Abby Brooks, who spent her life being single, had always dreamt of being a different case than everybody else—she wanted to have a child and raise that child on her own.
And one night, her dream was fulfilled when she met a brokenhearted, handsome man at a club. He was the perfect candidate in her eyes. It didn't take long before things got heated after several drinks, and they spent the night together. She felt bad for taking advantage of him, but then again, she swore to herself that it would be the last time they'd see each other. Things took a turn when the old president that she worked for suddenly died, and it turns out that the heir is none other than the man she had slept with that night.

As cheesy as it sounds, I felt my heart dangerously beating once again. I tried to remind myself that Raphael was an impossible man to be with- yet at times like this, I sometimes wonder if things would be a lot better if he wasn't my boss.


With that, I sucked my own breath and just shook my head to reality. Thinking I was having, funny thoughts because he was being so sweet, I gradually went silent for a few minutes.


"It's rare for you to be so obedient, but you've been doing it lately. What is it exactly that you want that you had to deceive me like this, my dear?" He says, his voice low in disappointment.


"Then how about you?" I chuckled. "Why do you keep chasing me for no reason? There's a lot more beautiful girls out there that's a better match for you. So why me?"


His head rose from my shoulder, "Answering a question, with a question? Typical, Abby."
