Chapter 8

I chuckle at Alpha Colten’s words, of course I would never have the guts to say that to anyone myself. They would of course attack me for disrespecting them, especially wolves with Alpha blood. But with what I know about Cooper, Alpha Colten is correct in what he’s saying. Cooper looks over at Colten clearly annoyed, but takes a look around the party checking that nobody else saw this interaction. Before scoffing and proceeding to walk away, leaving Colten and I standing there smiling.

Alpha Colten takes a deep breath in before turning to look at me, where a smile soon fills his lips. Perhaps I was wrong about Alpha Colten, Harvey was right when he said that Alpha Colten was like no other Alpha I’ve met. He is so kind but also knows when to step up and show real emotion, also his comeback to Cooper was quite funny. Whenever I have needed someone, Alpha Colten has always stepped up and supports and protects me, just like my father used to do. Gosh I miss him so much, but maybe having Alpha Colten by my side will help me get over his loss. He and my father are so much alike, just in the way they treat me but also other people.

“I will have the Beta to have it arranged for you and Harvey to be moved into my building, if you’re there Cooper won’t dare bother you again” Alpha Colten smiles which does take me by surprise, I won’t have to stay in the pack house anymore.

Yes, everyone there has been treating me so kindly since I helped Mitch, but it is always busy with the guys constantly hitting me on. “it will be my way of thanking you for saving my life in the forest” he smiles which also takes me by surprise, it was Alpha Colten that I saved that day?!

“That was you, I knew I recognised your wolf and your eyes. I just couldn’t figure where from” I say astonished, at least I know the wolf did indeed survive “thank you Alpha Colten, I believe everything you tell me because I can still see the holo from the Moon Goddess on you. The betrayer’s will lose the Moon Goddess' blessing, and their holo will fade gradually over time. While yours will remain as bright as a full moon” I smile where his eyes soon go wide, he takes a look around before taking my hand and leading me away from anyone else around.

“Please don’t take any offence but I have to ask you, are you a witch?” He whispers close to my ear, I just send him a smile with the shake of my head. “But what you have just told me, I was also told that by a witch I came across” he says still convinced I was a witch.

“I am not, but I have a friend who is but you cannot tell anyone about her, we all know what people will do if they found out” I tell him with a pointed look, but I knew that I could trust him to keep this between us.

Eliana thanks Colten one last time before getting back to serving the party, Colten watches her leave while his brain goes a million miles an hour. A memory starts to fill his mind, when he was being hunted by vampires, he came across a witch. She helped him by freezing time long enough for him to get away, where he would eventually fall into a coma in the forest. Where Eliana saved his life, he was still unclear who that powerful witch was that also helped him.

He wanted to tell this to Eliana, she could maybe tell him who her witch friend was who could potentially be the same witch. But he knows that wouldn’t be the best idea until he knew who the traitor was. He can’t get that idea of the war out of his mind, the pack were all wearing the specialist body armer, but none of them worked. Especially, his fathers when that vampire shot the silver bullet right through his fathers heart. If it wasn’t for his father Colten’s wouldn’t be standing here, in his last breath. He jumped in front of him shielding his son from any bullets.

He knew he couldn’t allow anyone else to find out about what happened, especially the witch part. The pack members will rise against him for accepting help from a witch, he would be seen as the traitor and the real one will be free. Until he knew all the answers, he had to keep all of this to himself. That includes Eliana.

He watches her walk around the party smiling, after she helped him in the woods he was sure she was the witch. But when she told him she wasn’t, he knew she wouldn’t lie to him. Perhaps when she trusts him more, she could take him to her witch friend where he could thank her. Until that happens, he must protect Eliana from the likes of Cooper and also Alpha Bruce.
