Raiders

(Dorrak POV)

Traytora hadn't spoken to me these past couple days, probably because she resents me for not helping the stag rangers when that human showed up. I know she wanted me to help resolve everything quicker but I just couldn't help but feel that something would go wrong if I did, I felt like we were being watched, and that put me on edge.

And along the way towards Athenela, I think she used some sort of Paralysis ability on me. I stayed like that until she released her lust filled Aura, which just barely touched me, removing the Paralysis, allowing me to move again, which I did so immediately, preventing me from becoming infected with lust.

I then helped those who had escaped also watch over the camp to prevent any unwanted visitors from disturbing everyone. When morning came, they had finally stopped and we were all able to go back into the campsite, but it had an incredibly heavy scent of sex.

Most of us chose to go back out and let the smell fade away, which it did after a few hours, and by few, I meant several, it was almost noon by the time it was weakened enough that we wouldn't be bothered by it.

Sometime later everyone started waking up. I went around offering my help to them as I felt that this was partially my fault for bringing Traytora into their lives like this, so I wanted to help ease the burden of those who had to deal with all of this mess. It took a while but when I was done, I went to look for Traytora but found that she and Cythistia had left to hunt for food apparently.

I wanted to go with her to keep her safe but she probably still resents me so she probably wouldn't want me there anyways.

About an hour had passed and I heard someone shouting so I went to check it out and saw a bunch of little green wretches trying to raid us. Once they saw me however, they stopped in their tracks from my presence alone. I was big and tall and their puny minds couldn't fathom the overwhelming power I was releasing at them.

That's when I heard another shout from the other side of the camp. I used my lighting to rush over there and saw another group of goblins. It seems they wanted to catch us off guard.

I quickly charged my body with lightning and punched the air in front of me, sending arcs of lightning over at the group before me, and turning them into fried corpses. I then rushed back to the previous group only to see they had doubled in number, reaching about forty to fifty goblins.

They had gotten into the pathways between the tents so releasing another shockwave of arcs would be bad in case the tents caught fire or something. So I just went round and punched every goblin I could see, but they just seemed to keep on multiplying for everyone that I killed.

This went on for a couple of hours and the rangers had already joined in fighting them off. As for me, I told them to shout for me if the goblins grouped up together as I would be most useful in clearing out big chucks of them all at once.

Eventually they seemed to stop coming and finally all died, leaving the camp in a bloody mess. I was also quite tired as I'd used up over half of my mana, leaving my body overexerted from the constant use of mana.

I went into a currently unused tent to rest and soon nodded off to sleep.

(Traytora POV)

The two of us quickly rushed into the middle of the camp to find everyone huddled around the centre. We saw blood stains alongside smashed up disgusting green body parts all over the place on the way here.

The rancid smell of their toxic blood permeated the air as some of the freshly torn up corpses still leaked the stuff.

"What happened!?" Cythistia cried out in a loud and anxious voice, her face filled with worry.

"Argh... Nothing much, just a herd of goblins came by and attempted to raid us. That big minotaur fella killed them all though, and pretty swiftly I might add. Just threw his fists at them and turned them into paste as if they were apples or something." A male stag told her with a slight fascination in his voice.

"Mmm." She just nodded and accepted this answer, and turned to me. "I have to go treat everyone that was injured now, so I'll be back with you soon, unless you want to come with me."

I shook my head and she understood that I wished to be by myself for a while. She healed the man before her quickly before trotting off to find someone else to heal.

As for me, I just went back to our torn-up tent and laid down. I just laid there, tired. So much had happened recently and I hadn't had a chance to process any of it.

I'd been tortured for a few months, impregnated what I thought to be a temporary thing and am now starting to fall for her. I let down my current guardian and lover, inducing myself into my worst nightmare. Then we started travelling to the home of these stag-kin.

I don't think it's even been a couple of weeks yet, and I've gone through so much stuff after getting out of that hellhole of what's called a city.

As I thought about everything that has happened recently, and as I was finally able to process it all, a small part of my mind was able to calm down and rest.

I soon fell asleep afterwards.

When I woke up, I found myself resting up against Cythistia. She must've finished her duties and then come back here to find me or take a short rest herself.

"I see that you're awake."

"Mhmm."

"Well, everyone,s eating right now so we should probably go and join them."

I nodded and got up with her, heading outside of our tent which I had just noticed didn't have a large hole in it anymore. It seems that they either patched it up or replaced it with a new one.

When we got to the fire and grabbed a bowl and some spoons we went over to the pot and got served our share of stew. We sat down and ate, I then got up and had three more bowls while Cythistia had one, then we headed off to sleep.

It took us many days of boring travelling but we eventually could see the city of Athenela in the distance, its towering structures the complete opposite from what I had expected.

"Hmhmhm~ Are you surprised it looks like this? Most people are, after all, they expect it to be more wooden buildings that go no higher than our wall. I believe it was built like this because our ancestors hired a famous group of dwarven artisans to make it out of a special tree that once grew here." I heard Cythistia explain. She then went on to explain more of the origins of this city and its rulers.
