Chapter 22

Nathans POV

"Let's go save my child" I said as Chris followed me out of the room. I was officially pissed. I never thought there would come a day I would see Amber like that but here we are. I didn't care who it was that did that to her, I was going to kill the bastards.

I switched into my wolf form to better track their scent. Chris and I followed their scent to a basement deep underground where their had been some sort of alter. "oh goddess I pray to the bless us with the gift of eternal life to never die, we sacrifice...." "shut your mouth you evil b***h" Chris yelled.

"GET YOUR HAND OFF MY BABY" I growled through my teeth. my eyes went wide when I saw a familiar face. 'Alphonse' I thought. it's Sarah's dad. "Stay back or we'll kill the child here and now" the witch said holding a knife to the baby causing me to growl once more.

"Just do the sacrifice witch hurry up" Alphonse yelled. Chris and I began to run to them "duratus" said the witch as she threw up her hand. suddenly Chris and I were frozen in place. "be calm wolves I think I know how we can settle this once and for all" the vampire said. suddenly he pulled out a large dagger. "I've waited over 1000 years for this" he said fixating on the dagger.

'no please no' I thought...

Ambers POV

"you can call me Selene" she said in a soft voice. "your the moon goddess?" I said confused. she nodded. "my dear child of magic it's not often that I choose to bring any of my children here" she said in a peaceful tone. "then why am I here?" I asked confused "you've just given birth to a piece of my heart of course I must bring you to my side to heal" she said.

"what's it matter" I said "if they kill my baby won't it all have been for nothing" continued. "your baby will not die today" she said. "Chris and Nathan save her?" I asked she smiled lightly "not exactly" she said.

Nathans POV

"I've waited over 1000 years for this" he said fixating on the dagger.

'no please no' I thought...

suddenly he threw it. "ah" I heard as the dagger plunged through Alphonse's heart. "What's another 20 more" the vampire added to his previous statement. "Ragnar what have you..." "be silent Adira" the vampire said snapping at the witch "I'd wanted to kill that annoyance for some time" he continued. "but what of the baby?" the witch asked. "we wait, killing a new born may be easier but it's never any fun when they can't fight back" he said.

"Ianuae" the witch said quickly and then they disappeared. after a minute wee were able to move again. I ran to my child who was laid on the alter crying. then shifted back to my human form and picked her up. "is this really how it's gonna end it was to easy" Chris said walking up behind me. "as long as she's safe we can deal with them another day" I said as I just stared at my baby.

she was truly beautiful, she looked so much like Amber yet she had little parts like her nose that had obviously com from me. "here put this on" Chris said handing me something that appeared to be a robe. "really?" asked. "just put it on" he snapped. I rolled my eyes and carefully handed him the baby then took the robe from his hand and put it on.

"at least we only have two to deal with now" Chris said looking over at the dead Alphonse. "yeah..." I said "but how am I supposed to tell Sarah her father was apart of this" I said as he handed me back the baby. "are you sure she's not apart of it?" Chris asked as we began to walk up the stairs.

"no way Sarah wouldn't" I said glaring at him "Are you sure?" he asked again. "I'm just saying if Alphonse was able to hide it so well, he has to have someone close to him to help hide it" he said as we reached the top of the stairs. "we'll talk about this later let's just get back to Amber" I replied walking past him.

we walked into the room we had found Amber in. she was just laying there. the trail of blood from her attempt to crawl to the door just under her. "is she..." Chris said walking over to her. "she needs a real hospital I can't do anything here, and with the vampire blood in her system..." her mother said trailing off. "let's go then" Chris said picking her up and quickly taking her out of the room.

Jackson and Ambers mother were now both covered in her blood. "is this...?" ambers mother said as she saw the baby. I nodded. "she's the spitting image of her as a baby" Emily said tears in her eyes. "do you have any name ideas?" Emily asked as we began to walk out to the car. "I think I have one" I said as I got into the car. "but I have to wait for Amber in order to fully decide" I continued. "smart choice" Jackson said getting in next to me.

we drove to the hospital but a completely different one a supernatural one. the doctors took care of Amber and some nurses cleaned up the baby and told me for a premature baby she was in amazing health.

after everything calmed down I began to relive the events of the day. then I realized, Chris was unfortunately right. it was way to easy to get her back. they had the chance to kill us and perform the sacrifice, but instead that vampire Ragnar killed Alphonse and ran away.

obviously he'd be back, but when. would he find someone to replace Alphonse? the questions that continued to build up in my head only made me continue to worry.
