Tasked.

Christoph did not believe that he was sitting on a chartered flight. He asked Evelyn, "May I ask the net worth of the Silvermoon Family?"

Evelyn nodded and said, "It should be around seven billion. I do not know the exact details because the records are not privy to me. Only Vincent or Lady Silvermoon knows how much we are worth."

Christoph was stunned for a moment before he gulped a mouthful and remarked, "I feel very fortunate. As if the entire life's worth fortune was spent on being rescued by the Silvermoon Family."

Evelyn smiled faintly. Christoph sighed, turned his head to look at the skies outside the window, and gradually fell asleep. Evelyn thought, 'It is probably the luck of the Silvermoon manner that has found you.'

In the Silvermoon manner, Vincent stood on the balcony. He was gazing at the horizon, and soon a silver light flashed. The next moment, Ambrosia appeared beside him. The old butler bowed and said, "Welcome home, My Lady."

Ambrosia nodded and turned her gaze around before she asked, "Did they leave?"

Vincent nodded, and Ambrosia said, "Have the place cleaned up. I do not want those old bastards to pick up any scent."

The butler nodded and followed her inside the building. Christoph was posted to the nation's far East to protect him from certain troubles headed his way.

Vincent asked, "Will those people be able to tell what he is?"

Ambrosia replied, "Everyone feels blood suppression. You also feel it, but have you never noticed? Christoph does not feel it."

Her voice's seriousness made Vincent realize that he had been playing ignorant to the most obvious fact. Nos wonder the young man would always defy him. Vincent was an almost ancient being whose blood was strong enough to beat the shit out of some young originals, yet he could not scare Christoph.

Vincent shivered at the thought of what might happen if those old people were to find out about Christoph. Suddenly, he thought of something and said, "What if those people have succeeded and found someone to carry the lineage of the progenitor?"

Ambrosia sighed, "They already have."

Vincent stopped in his tracks, and the lady said, "At least the Rose and the Bard family have."

The old butler fumbled, and the lady said, "Do not be so disgraceful in front of those people. They only need one slip-up."

Vincent nodded and said, "I will be mindful, My Lady."

The plane landed on the tarmac. Evelyn said, "Since we will be the white-collar employees, let us ride like them too."

Christoph nodded and then followed her out of the plane. A chauffeur was standing there beside the gate. He bowed to Evelyn in greeting, and the lady nodded faintly.

Christoph sighed, "Chivalry Lancea. Miss Evelyn, is this not too much for a white-collar employee? This is a special edition car."

Evelyn smiled and said, "Indeed, it is a bit too much, but our company owns a five percent stake in the Chivalry motor company."

Christoph shook his head as he commented, "My poverty has limited my vision."

Evelyn said nothing and waved her hand, telling him to get inside the car. Christoph asked, "Can you tell me what we are doing here? You did not tell me anything on the flight either."

Evelyn nodded and said, "Melvin, hand me the tablet."

The driver of the car was called Melvin. He picked up the tablet and handed it to Evelyn, asking, "Ma'am, where shall we go?"

Evelyn said, "Take us to the company first. I need to make some adjustments in the management."

Melvin nodded, and the car cruised on the asphalt. Evelyn operated the tablet skillfully and passed it to Christoph. A video introducing the company was playing on the screen. Christoph found that the company was called Nector Investments.

The total worth was over five hundred million, and it was one of the top investment companies in the nation. Evelyn said, "We have stakes and equity in many other companies, but they are always calculated as individuals because Nector Investment is just a board member."

Christoph nodded but asked, "Why do we not calculate the revenue generated from the other companies together?"

Evelyn replied, "Because all that revenue is given away as a charity in the third world countries and technology research organizations."

Christoph raised his eyebrow and watched the slide show of the images. The data told him a lot about the situation in the company. Evelyn said, "Your task is to follow me around and make the company earn a least one hundred million in profit."

The young man shivered, but he regained his grip and nodded. Christoph could see the widening eyes of the driver at the mention of this topic. He calmed his mind and realized that Melvin was a human. No wonder the car smelled like an alluring perfume shop.

Evelyn patted Christoph slightly on his thigh and said, "You can handle this, right?"

Christoph gazed back at her and nodded before returning to the tablet. The task set for him was to earn profit and control his blood thirst in the world of humans. He was sent here to temper himself. At least, that was what he thought.

Evelyn looked at him from the corner of her eye and said, "I will take you shopping after this visit."

Christoph nodded and began to read all he could find about the company and the management heads. He was analyzing them because, as far as he understood people, none of the authoritative figures would allow the two of them to do as they liked. However, he was sure Evelyn would not come to a place where they had no leverage.

Evelyn smiled and said, "Check the galleries. You will know."

Christoph browsed through the content in the gallery, and he understood why she was so confident about making things work. He said, "The best way is to have these people ousted immediately to prevent any future complications."

Evelyn looked at him amusingly and said, "You were saying something about not having experience in handling business."

Christoph smiled and replied, "I never said I do not know how to handle humans."

With that, the car weaved through the traffic and headed to the office of Nector Investments after leaving the VIP passage of the airport.
