Delicious - Kaede

I finished up with the corpse of the human, gathering my things, making sure I had all the materials I needed to turn in this job back in Maemont. My hunger for blood was finally satiated after all these years from living off of monster blood, that when I look at the bodies of kobolds in front of me, I no longer feel any need to feast. "I hope its like this back in town" A smile appearing on my face after such a long time, thinking that maybe I can deal being around groups of people again.

Looking around the open area in the cave, I look around to see if there were anything around, but I was the only one left standing, leaving the cave moments later. Coming out of the cave, I get hit by the sounds of the forest, birds chirping, leaves rustling, it felt refreshing in contrast to the dark, cold cave. Looking to my left, I saw a few wolves chewing on the 2 kobold corpses I had killed earlier. They appeared to be weary of me, as they don't seem to be interested in attacking, letting me continue ahead back towards the dirt path.

Making my way back to Maemont, I hear a faint roar from behind, sounding like it was miles upon miles away as when I look behind me, I saw nothing. Not wanting to waste time with it, I continue to walk back.

Eventually, I arrive back in Maemont. Some of the guards posted outside the town seemed a little alarmed as I was entering. I wonder if it had something to do with that roar from before. I had never heard of something like that before, but for something to make a sound like that, from that far away, it must be big.

Arriving at the guild, I make my way inside. There seems to be quite a commotion as many adventurers were talking amongst themselves about that sound, however I continued towards the desk.

Sky: "Ah, Welcome back, did you need something?"

Kaede: "Yes. I collected the horns that you requested, along with extra."

Sky: "Already?! I thought you perhaps needed something to help with the job"

I take out the bag I used to store the horns before putting it on the desk. Sky seemed quite shocked as she looked inside.

Kaede: "I'm not sure of these were kobolds, but they had horns so I-"

Sky: "These horns. They are from a Kobold Champion..."

Kaede: "Ah, thank god. I wasn't sure these were the right ones"

I felt relieved to know that they were in fact kobolds. Next time if I'm unsure, I'll ask for a description of what I'm hunting.

Sky: "Yes, these are kobold horns, however, these 3 are from a kobold champion, which is classed as a B rank threat. With this you'll surely become a B rank yourself. Did you want to sell these extra horns?"

Kaede: "Yes"

I give her my guild card to complete the job, before she hands me bags of coins. It felt heavier than my previous jobs. Looking inside I saw what looked like 3 gold coins amongst the rest.

Sky: "Your payment is 75 silver for the 12 horns, plus an added 10 for the 2 extra horns. And also 3 gold coins for the clean kobold champion's horns."

Looking at the amount I had gotten from this 1 job, I couldn't believe it. This is the first time I have seen gold coins.

Kaede: "Sorry. I think I don't deserve these gold coins, let alone 3 of them"

I go to give back the gold coins, however Sky pushes my hand back with a smile on her face.

Sky: "Nope! This is your reward. You earnt it."

She continues to keep my hand back before finally, I put the coins back into the pouch.

Kaede: "Thank you."

Sky: "You're welcome. Oh and I finished with your card. Congratulations on making it to B rank."

The sounds of people talking died down as she said that. Turning my head I see that the stares I got from before have returned. I take my card back during the awkward silence.

Adventurer1: "B rank?! Her?"

Adventurer2: "Impossible. A girl her age even being C rank is unheard of, let alone B rank"

Am I really that special? For me rank doesn't mean anything, as all my life its just been an excuse to help me deal with my hunger. Speaking of which, feasting on that human from earlier seemed to have did the trick as my stomach was completely calm even around this many people. For once, I felt normal. That is until my hunger comes back to terrorize me. From what I remember, it took roughly a month from when I killed Silas that my hunger started back up again, I really don't want to hurt anyone.

Kaede: "I'll be off then"

Sky: "Take care~"

Walking back through the guild, the gazes on the other adventurers continued to follow me before I finally leave, letting out a loud exhale upon exiting.

Making my way back to the inn I had been staying in, I head inside as the owner, Louis greeted me, before making my way upstairs and into my room. Dumping my bag on the table, I let my body relax before collapsing onto the bed with my face in the pillow. The taste of human blood still lingering in my mouth before after a few moment I sit back up. My room wasn't too small or too big as it was ideal for someone like me who was travelling. I left most of my stuff back at Azalea, as Fleur wanted to keep that room I was in reserved for me, letting me know that I have a home to return; it felt nice, but something was missing...

Kaede: "Yui..."

Even after all these years, I still can't shake away my memories I had with her. Maybe if I hadn't of been reborn in this world maybe I'd be at peace, but here I am, stuck in this disgusting body. However I refuse to repeat what happened back in our old world. The fact that I have reborn means there is a chance Yui is here, so I can't just kill myself again. Would she even remember me? And if we do meet again, will she also think I'm disgusting? Either way, I can't just die. Not until I find her.

Not wanting to sulk in my pillow, I decide to head back out, carrying my bag with the money I have saved up to maybe find some interesting things to buy. "Maybe some new clothes would be nice" I've been growing a lot these past years, as the clothes I'm wearing have started to feel tighter around the chest area.

Making my way outside, I go into one of the nearby stores that had articles of clothing on display.

Storekeeper: "Hi there~"

Kaede: "Hi"

Looking around, the store was filled to the brim of clothes for ladies. From dresses, skirts, pants, and shirts, but what my eyes were wondering off to was the bra section. It's been getting increasingly uncomfortable when fighting and moving around without one, so it's about time I buy one.

Shopkeeper: "Was there anything you were looking for?"

Kaede: "Maybe a bit of everything, however I do want clothes in black. Oh and a bra please"

The reason being, is that when blood gets on black clothes, its much less noticeable than if I wore other colors.

Shopkeeper: "We have plenty in stock for you. Feel free to let me know if you need anything"

Kaede: "Will do"

I approach the underwear section where the bras were located. My body seemed to be close enough to what I was like in high school in my old world, so perhaps this one will work. I pick up what resembled the same size as my bras from before, being C cup, however the sizes in this world are different, with the cup size using numbers instead of letters. The bra was black, and looked quite pretty, and the underwear that went along with it also looked pleasant to me so I decided to buy it together. Moving onto the shirts, I just wanted something more loose, but I could not find any shirt that was black. However I did notice a dress that was black, which reminded me of the dress I wore when I came to this world. It had the same designs, so after seeing it, I quickly snatch it from the shelf.

Kaede: "Excuse me. Do you have any dark shirts? I can't seem to find any black ones"

Shopkeeper: "Ah sorry, I thought we had some in stock. But if its dark clothes you want, then this might be your best bet"

She pointed out to me a dark blue button up shirt, almost like navy blue. Blood would still totally be visible on that shirt though, but she was right, it was the darkest thing I could see in terms of shirts.

Kaede: "I'll take this then"

Shopkeeper: "Here, give me the clothes you have at the moment and I can process them while you look around some more"

Kaede: "Thank you"

It felt refreshing being able to talk to people without the feeling of hunger attacking me, that I found myself enjoying shopping.

I ended up grabbing a couple pants, along with another shirt before making my way to the shopkeeper. The total amount for everything added up to 80 silver, with the majority of the cost coming from that black dress, but with the amount of money I had now, this amount was nothing to me. She put all the things I bought in a bag before taking my leave.

Shopkeeper: "Come again~"

Back at the inn, I slump back onto my bed, tossing my bags to the side as I stare at the ceiling.

Kaede: "What a day..."

Got a big payout with that job, the commotion from that sound earlier, reaching B rank, and even bought some clothes. I think I'll stay here for a while longer before heading back to Azalea. I do miss Fleur and Faye, but I still want to look around. Might even try and have a look around the capital while I'm here. I've heard its not too far from Maemont.
