What a strong determination not to spare.
Jessica deeply regretted it. She knew very well about William's way of doing things. She shouldn't have held a glimmer of hope that he would let her and David be together.
He was going to ruin David!
No matter how he treated her, it didn't matter, but she would never allow him to destroy David.
However, she had been kept outside the villa from dawn until night. Even when the weather suddenly changed in the evening and it started pouring down rain, the people in the villa still didn't let her in. Jessica was already not dressed warmly enough, and the cold wind mixed with the pouring rain made her shiver uncontrollably. The pea-sized raindrops fell on the wound on her back, causing a burning pain, but she seemed to be oblivious to the rain and still pressed the doorbell over and over again.
Never know how long Jessica had been waiting, but just when she felt like she was about to faint from standing, a limited edition luxury car slowly drove out. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized it at a glance as William's car.
As the car door opened and the person who stepped out of the back seat was none other than William himself.
The moment William got out of the car, his bodyguards rushed to hold an umbrella for him. William took the umbrella and walked straight in without even glancing at Jessica standing outside in the rain.
"Mr. Davis!" Jessica called out in a panic.
She pushed aside the guards blocking her way and ran up to William, hoarsely pleading, "Mr. Davis, can we talk?"
"Talk?" William turned around slowly and said, looking Jessica up and down with a sneer that was impossible to read, "With you?"
A servant naturally reported to him that Jessica had been here all day.
Ever since Jessica was released from prison, has been avoiding William like the plague. Yet, for whom, she would wait for him in the rain for a whole day. Although he had known the answer for a long time, when he heard her say it out loud, he felt the restless, poisonous sting in his heart begin to stir once again, seizing the opportunity to pierce his heart.
"I implore your assistance with David's case," Jessica pleaded. "Mr. Davis, I firmly believe he is not the kind of person who would be involved in any economic crimes."
"So what? Believe it or not, even if the whole world stands on his side, as long as I say he's guilty, he's guilty," William said word by word, leaning down towards her, with a slow and deliberate tone that conveyed an unyielding force.
How could Jessica not know the status and identity of the man she had deeply loved in New York City?
"Taylor," William said as he lifted her chin, "don't look at me like that. Anyone has the right to blame me for ruining your happiness, but you don't.
"If you want to blame someone, you should blame your beloved fiancé. If he were more capable than me, able to turn black into white and white into black, why would you be standing outside my villa in the rain, begging me?"
"I'll give you my eyes," Jessica interrupted him, speaking softly.
"What?" William's grip on her chin tightened, as he spoke each word.
"I don't want to clarify the matter about Ms. Hughes anymore, regardless of whether or not it was my fault," Jessica looked up at him and said. "You wanted my eyes, didn't you? Okay, I'll have them removed and transplanted to her, giving her back her sight. Moreover, you can ask for anything from me, any part of my body, just please, let David go. I am begging you."
