Chapter 14: The timeline

“Okay, here’s how I see it.” David stopped pacing and came to the map so he could point things out to Collins. “There are three ways in. One, we go through the skylight. I don’t like this way, it seems too amateur, but it might be a good bone to throw the cops.” Collins nodded but said nothing.

David continued. “Two, we go through the front door. We just waltz in, put in the codes, pick the locks, and go through the door. It’s risky, but stylish.”

“I like it.” His eyes were sparkling. David hated it when his eyes sparkled. Collins was not a man David liked to see excited. “What’s number three?”

“We don’t break in, we just break out. We get into the museum the day of, we hide, and then come out and get the painting.”

Collins chuckled. “Kind of like that stock exchange job?”

David couldn’t keep the smile off his face. He was sure there were still police officers trying to figure out how that one had happened. “Exactly.”
