Chapter 34, Intense Awakening

Li Jain woke up early in the morning to refine the bloodline awakening options. Bloodline awakening is the process of unleashing inner strength and power. It is an awakening of ancestry power. This awakening can help to unlock hidden potential, and access abilities and strength that one never knew existed. A bloodline awakening can be a transformative experience that is heaven or hell depending on how you look at it.  

Bloodline has been significant throughout history. They represent a family ancestry, heritage, and legacy. Bloodlines has determined the ruler of kingdoms, the inheritance of wealth and property and even the statute of individuals in a society. Because the good bloodline are very rare, those who possess them are at the risk of having their body taken from them, or being a vessel. 

After the potions were refined, Li Cheng and Jingsheng were already awake. Knowing that they'll be fully awaken this morning, they didn't dare to sleep deeply and had been meditating all night.

"Good morning, father." They greeted Li Jain together. Their eyes showed happiness and contentment as they greeted Li Jain.   

"Good morning, you're just in time. The medicine is ready. Xiao Cheng, you'll be first." After finishing his words, Li Jain took out the medicine bath he'd prepare in his space.

One reason why everything has gone smoothly so far, was also thanks to the spirit spring water that he used for refining. Li Jain has put in lots of spirit stones in the spirit which increases its spiritual energy.

Li Cheng took off his clothes and climbed into the tub which contains the medicine bath.  Once inside, he felt warmth spreading in his chest. It felt amazing. His muscles were relaxed, and when he breathed in, he tasted a strange but pleasing scent.  He closed his eyes and sunk deeper into the bath.

Because his body has once absorbed the medicine elements, this time things went smoothly. The sky began to darken as the white clouds disappeared one after another. 

Rumble.  Thunder. The sound rumbled across the land. Lightning cracked open the dark clouds like a thunderbolt and shot down towards the ground. 

Li Jain look up at the rumbling thunder with deep thought. Since Li Cheng has a thunder spirit root, it was reasonable to invoked the thunder and lightning during his awakening. But, will he be able to handle it? The spiritual power within this thunder is not something that any average person could bear. 

The sound of the thunder grew louder, as though it was about to crash over him. It was terrifying and intimidating.  Li Cheng breathing quickened as he looked at the sky, awaiting the coming impact. Once the lightning strike him, something amazing happen; it was absorbed into his body.  The lightning element inside Li Cheng absorbed by the bold of lightning, and it slowly transformed into a black cloud of thunder spiritual energy.  

Li Jain raised his eyebrows in surprise. His son's body can absorb lightning strikes and transform it into a special thunder energy. "Interesting." He mumbled under his breath and smiled.

Because of the lightning strikes that were turned into thunder energy, Li Cheng had so much spiritual energy and was forced to break through to the third level of Physical Body.

As Li Cheng's spiritual energy was fully absorbed by the thunder, the clouds started to disperse quickly until finally the sky became clear and bright again. Li Cheng opened his eyes  and gasped. There were no longer any black clouds around, and what remained was a blue sky. He felt refreshed, and full of energy. He was now a lot lighter and more energetic than before. 

Jingsheng looked at him and smiled. "Congratulations, brother. You've successfully awakened."

"Congratulations." Li Jain added warmly 

"Thank you." Li Cheng replied and turned to Jingsheng, "I'm sure you'll be impressed as well."

"We need only try," said Jingsheng and smile confidently. he then walked forward to the medicine bath,  sat in it.

Because of the loud Thunder noise, the children had all woken up and were standing at the door.

Unlike Jing Xuan hot medicine bath, Jing Sheng medicine bath was icy cold! As soon as he got into the bathtub, goosebumps rose all over him, he shivered and grabbed onto the sides. 

  The chilliness of the ice was enough to freeze him to death instantly. Moments later, his body familiarizes itself and becomes one with the water. 

After absorbing the medicine elements, an intensive coldness starts to spread through his body which freezes the bath water and causes it to be extremely frigid. The cold spread in all directions causing the temperature in the room to drop rapidly.

The children also felt it move back in fear. This cold was nothing ordinary. Once it  touched your skin, you would feel a chill that goes right through your bones, as if eating your bones apart. Li Jain saw that the situation wasn't good and quickly set up a protective array for the children. He then took out the ice attributed sword and handed it to Jing Sheng who reached forward and grabbed it with both hands. As if seeing another channel, the cold in his body rushed forward like a flood and was swallowed up by the ice blade.

Soon the sword emitted a blue glow. As the light spread across the sword, the light became darker and darker. A pair of ice Phoenix wings sprouted from behind Jing Sheng's back.  The wings are made up of two layers of ice. When the sword glows with a dim blue light, the wings glow brightly as well as its color changes from white to blue. It looked like a blue Phoenix emerging out of the darkness.

"Wow, brother Sheng got wings. I want wings too." Juanxin shouted excitedly. His small face beamed with delight and anticipation. He held his father's hand tightly.   

"What Xiao Sheng awaken is the Ice Phoenix Spirit which is why he got wings." Li Jain said gently trying to comfort Juanxin.

"Congratulations, Sheng. I knew you was up to something amazing." Li Cheng said with a smile.

Jing Sheng was slightly taken aback. Well, It's very difficult for Li Cheng to smile, it was a rare sight. He smiled back. "Thanks, brother."

When everything was settled, the wings on Jing Sheng back slowly fade away revealing the boy's naked figure. 

"Huh? where did the wings disappear to?" Juanxin, who had been watching the wings excitedly, was confused when it suddenly vanished.

"Just like Zhang gradient and Xuan refining flames, the wings will also appear and disappear at times." Li Jain explain.

"Really?!" He asked with wide eyes.

"Yes, really!" Li Jain chuckled and continued, "Come on, let's have breakfast. Today is a busy day."

After breakfast, Li Jain left the children at home, took the horse and set out to the Yan family residence. The Yan family are located south of the city and are in control of several large families surrounding it.  The Yan family is considered the biggest clan among the other smaller clans. Even the largest clan in the entire county, the Liu family, wasn't more than three families. In terms of size and influence, Yan family could definitely surpass the most elite families within the county. Only one froth of their branch were in Qingyuan town, another half are in Fengwu City and beyond.

As soon as he arrived at Yan Family residence, Li Jain parked the horse on the side and use resistance talismen to  make sure it wouldn't get stolen or run away.  Then he proceeded directly up to the main gate. Before he could reach the door, it was open by the security guard. "You're trespassing on the Yan family property. what may I help you with?" the man asked sternly.

"I am Li Jain, father of Li Yujian and Li Yuhan. I made a deal with the Yan family's head over a year ago. I'm here to see him." He replied politely.

"Oh.. oh I remember now. Please wait inside for me, I'll inform him that you are here." The security guard nodded and lead Li Jain to meet the family leader, Yan Zhenghang.

After waiting for an hour or so, there came the sound of hurried footsteps approaching.
