The Ghoulish Haunted Mansion: Chapter 7

Meanwhile, Emma started to hear moaning coming from outside the bathroom door, so she waited for it to go away. Emma looked at herself in the mirror and said, “It’s fine, Emma. You and your friends will get out of this mess.” After Emma spoke to her reflection, Emma’s reflection spoke back to her. Emma’s image in the mirror said, “Of course you will. You’re fine, and so is your hair. You look lovely.” Emma screamed when she saw her reflection talk back to her. Emma said, “My reflection never spoke back to me before.” Emma looked at her reflection again, and it said, “Of course not; I was in a regular mirror each time you spoke to me. This time you’re in a haunted house.” Emma screamed in terror and then ran out of the bathroom before her reflection said anything else.

Meanwhile, Mike fell off the bed and saw some green goo on it. He touched it, and half his hand got covered in it. Lou said, “What is that?” Mike said, “Some kind of goo.” Then they all started to hear moaning again, so Mike and Lou left the room they were in and tiptoed through the hallways. Then they saw a trail of green goop on the wall and started to get scared. Mike said, “A trail of goop. A terrible trail of goop.” Then the bathroom door opened, and a ghostly fog came out along with some eerie moaning. Then they started to hear somebody rattling chains. Mike said, “The terrible rattling. The terrible rattling.” Then they saw a ghost covered in chains jump out of the bathroom and into the fog. Lou screamed, “GHOST!” Lou jumped up and got her head stuck in the ceiling. While Lou had her head stuck, Mike broke a door down and ran into the room. Then the sheeted ghost floated into the hallway moaning, and when he met up with the chained spirit, both of them screamed in terror because they were both scared of each other. When Mike thought it was safe to come out, Mike came out of the room he was hiding in and grabbed Lou’s legs because he was still scared. Once Mike grabbed her legs, Lou got pulled out of the ceiling, and they both fell to the ground. Once they both got down, they looked in front of them and saw another ghost. Then they both screamed in terror and ran for their lives.

Meanwhile, Bobby, Pablo, and Sam were all hiding in the closet. Then they started to hear a thumping sound, and they all started to get scared. Sam whis- pered, “What’s that?” Bobby whispered, “I don’t know.” Pablo whispered, “It’s the beating of one of their dead hearts. Now we’re going to become ghosts.” Bobby whispered, “We’re not ghosts, Pablo.” Pablo whispered, “Not yet. They’ll all scare us to death. Then we become ghosts, and then we join them as they want.” Sam said, “I don’t want to be a ghost.” Bobby whispered, “Quiet.” The thumping sound stopped for a minute, and then it moved away from the closet they were hiding in. Sam said, “Sweet relief.” Bobby said, “That was close.” Then they started to hear somebody calling their names in a ghostly voice and started to get scared. Because of it. The eerie voice asked, “Where are you?” Once they heard it, Pablo screamed in terror and said, “Ah! I’m getting out of this house.” Pablo quickly ran for his life, and Bobby and Sam chased after him. Bobby said, “Pablo wait, no.” Pablo said, “Ah! Spooky house. Spooky, crazy house.” Pablo ran for one of the windows and tried to take down all the boards they put on it so that he could escape. While he was doing so, Bobby and Sam stopped him and tried to calm him down. Pablo said, “Hey, what’s this?” Pablo grabbed something from off the ground and saw it was a sweater covered in ghost’s goo. Pablo said, “Oh no, this kind of looks like Emma’s sweater.” Bobby said, “Oh no, you don’t think.” Bobby, Pablo, and Sam all heard Emma screaming and started to get even more scared.

Meanwhile, Emma saw a ghost coming her way, so she looked in a mirror on the wall and saw her reflection. Emma’s reflection said, “Run, Emma, run.” Emma got scared because her image in the mirror talked back to her again. Then she did what it said and ran for her life screaming. Then the ghost chased her all over the mansion. Emma ran over Tom while she was running and screaming. Tom said, “Excuse me.” Tom looked ahead of him and saw the ghost coming, so he ran for his life while screaming too. The spirit chased Emma and Tom down the hallway, and they knocked over a vase, telephone, and mirror and broke them. Tom and Emma stood up against the side. Then the wall turned around and let them into another room behind it. When the ghost got there, it wondered where Tom and Emma went. It leaned against the same wall they leaned against, and it turned around again and brought the ghost in and Tom and Emma out. Then it kept repeatedly turning until Emma, Tom, and the spirit were all outside it. Emma yelled, “GHOST!” Emma and Tom ran away, and the ghost chased after them.

Meanwhile, Helga looked out the window and saw a shadow person with a hook for a hand and wearing a raincoat with glowing red eyes coming towards the mansion. Helga scrammed in terror and ran away from the window. Then Helga hid somewhere in the house, and a ghost was still chasing Emma and Tom. Emma and Tom made a quick turn down the next hallway and purposely knocked over a bookshelf, a TV, a desk with framed pictures on it, and a potted tree, hoping it would stop the ghost, but it didn’t even slow him down. The spirit chased Emma and Tom to a dead end, and when they got there, they saw they had nowhere left to run. Then they saw the ghost flying up to them. When the spirit got close to them, Violet jumped off the bookshelf on the wall and kept the ghost busy while Emma and Tom ran off. Once they got away, Violet ditched the spirit and re-joined Emma and Tom. Then they all ran downstairs and thought they were safe.
