Chapter 18: Broken Trust

Day drove his car towards his home, which was just a 5-10 minute distance from the company. He was speeding, and Bright asked, "Where are you taking me? I want to talk to you. Please stop the car." Day remained silent, ignoring all of Bright's questions.

Finally, Day stopped the car and forcefully dragged Bright into his house, pushing him inside. Bright became furious, tears streaming down his face, as he yelled, "What is wrong with you? I should be angry! I'm the one who's upset and feels betrayed. You broke my trust!" Day, too, had tears in his eyes, overwhelmed by mixed emotions. After so many years, Bright suddenly reappeared in his life, acting as if they had a relationship and as if Bright had never cheated on him, while Day was the one betraying.

Day laughed bitterly and said, "Betrayed? Who betrayed whom? When did I betray you or break your trust?" Bright was stunned. Everything had happened right before his eyes, yet Day was acting innocent, pretending not to understand what Bright was implying. "Wow, everyone saw you and that person flirting and being affectionate. Yet, you're acting innocent," Bright said with a smirk.

Day argued back, saying, "Marcus is just my friend. He is Max's brother, and he has a girlfriend. He was just teasing me..." While all this was happening, Bright was in tears. Upon hearing Day's explanation about Marcus, he tightly hugged Day. Day was momentarily stunned. After all these years, he was in the arms of his comfort person, feeling weak in his knees, but he regained control. He struggled for a moment to break free from Bright's embrace, then pushed him away. "Let go of me! What do you think you're doing?" Day grabbed Bright's shirt aggressively with both hands. "Even if something were happening between Marcus and me, it shouldn't bother you. Who are you to interfere in my life? It has nothing to do with you," Day said, tears welling up but held back.

Bright stepped forward, holding Day's hand, and broke down in tears. "Babe... You're mine... You said you're mine." Seeing Bright like this pierced Day's heart, and tears fell from his eyes. Day pushed Bright's hand away, wiped off his tears, and said with a smirk, "You also said many things, but look at what you did. Maybe you don't remember, but you cheated on me, you broke my trust... You made me a joke in front of everybody..." Day let out a sigh. "At least you guys shouldn't have told my parents about this," he added.

Surprisingly, Bright wiped away his tears and said, "Day! What are you talking about? I've never done such things. Your parents? You're confusing me. What on earth happened back then?"
