Blaise really should've known better than to trust Raphael, for now they found themselves surrounded by the encroaching vampires. Lucien's eyes darted from one vampire to another, assessing their numbers and calculating their chances. The odds were stacked against them, and their weariness from the battle with Raphael only amplified the daunting challenge ahead.
One of the vampires, a tall figure with a wicked smile, stepped forward, taunting Lucien and Blaise. "You can't run forever, little ones," he jeered. "Give up now, and we might show you some mercy."
Lucien clenched his fists, his jaw set. "We won't be your playthings," he retorted. "We'll fight until the very end."
