She pushed him away. "Xianwu, no more teasing," she cautioned, observing his amused smile directed at her. 

"What did I do?" Xianwu acted innocent, keeping the smirk on his lips.

 "Act like a noble man not an immoral one," she scolded him. 

"I believe in acting immorally around you," Xianwu remarked.  

Jia Li shot a glance at him. 

"Don't look at me with that gaze. It gives me an invitation to do more with you," Xianwu said.

Wangjie rushed into the infirmary, where Ning Hua was taken to. He glanced at both Chen Xin and Yu Chen. "What happened? How did she get attacked?" His voice was trembling, and so were his hands.

"We have no idea, Your Highness. The moment I reached, Miss Ning was already on the ground with the dagger in her back. The man who did this is dead. Someone killed him with a poisoned needle," Chen Xin explained.

"What did the doctor say? Has the bleeding stopped?" Wangjie inquired.

"Till now, we got no information from the inside," Chen Xin replied.

Ning Chengli and his sons also arrived. They were scared to death for Ning Hua, who was fighting a battle between her life and death. Wangjie had already sent an order for the royal physician to reach quickly so that he could also treat Ning Hua.
