Chapter 48: Koa Lee

Christian stood face-to-face with Koa, a member of the renowned Lee Clan. The air crackled with tension as they locked eyes, both eager to prove their worth.

"The Lee Clan? I've never heard of you," Christian remarked, his voice laced with skepticism.

Koa's brows furrowed in disbelief. "What?! That's impossible! We are the strongest clan in the world!"

Christian turned to Teddy, seeking clarification. "Hey, Teddy, what exactly is a clan?"

Teddy, always ready to share his knowledge, replied, "A clan is a tight-knit group of people who usually reside in the same village. They share a common last name and often have a strong familial bond."

Christian scratched his head in confusion. "Oh... so it's like a bunch of people with the same last name?"

Koa's temper flared. "Don't you dare simplify our clan name, four-eyes!"

Teddy, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, retorted, "Four eyes, huh? That's a new one."

Quin trying to diffuse the tension adds in, "Koa, please be nice."

Koa's frustration simmered, but Teddy assured Quin, "I am so sorry Quin, my friend Christian can also be pretty hot-headed."

Koa, still seething, couldn't help himself. "Don't you dare talk to my younger sister like you know her! FIGHT ME!"

Quin sighed, correcting Koa, "Koa, we're the same age."

Interrupting the escalating conflict, Teddy protested, "Wait, wait, hold on. I'm not much of a fighter."

Undeterred, Koa challenged Teddy, "Come on, four-eyes! You can't talk to my sister without being strong!"

Teddy stammered, "But, but..."

Just as Koa was about to grab Teddy, Christian swiftly seized Koa's arm, earning a menacing glare. Koa then tells Christian, "Let go of me, or else."

Christian's eyes blazed with determination. "Don't you dare touch my friend."

Koa, seething with anger, retorted, "Do you want a piece of me?"

Christian defiantly replied, "Bring it on!"

Quin, desperately attempting to defuse the situation, pleaded, "Koa, stop!"

Eve, another member of the group, chimed in, her voice filled with exasperation. "Christian, you too."

Koa, unwilling to back down, stubbornly declared, "Sorry, Quin, but this asshole is asking for a fight."

Christian, equally stubborn, responds in earnest, "I'm ready whenever you are, bonehead."

Eve sighed, realizing the inevitability of the clash. "Oh, brother. Well, I guess I have no choice."

Tension began to rise and both Christian and Koa prepared to fight. However just before the confrontation escalated any further, Harrison intervened with a powerful voice. "Idiots!" His swift strike rendered both Christian and Koa unconscious. As he hit them both on top of their heads.

Eve, grateful for Harrison's intervention, expressed her gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Harrison."

Harrison, nods, "I appreciate you letting me know before Christian starts causing more trouble."

Quin, feeling responsible for her brother's actions, bowed respectfully. "I apologize for my brother's behavior."

Harrison's eyes fell upon a symbol on Quin's neck. "That symbol... You're from the Lee Clan, aren't you?"

Quin nodded, a mix of pride and caution in her voice. "Yes, I am."

Harrison made a decision. "I see. Well, both of these idiots will be out for a while. I'll bring him back to your village."

Quin expressed her gratitude. "Thank you very much."

Curiosity burning inside him, Teddy asked, "Are outsiders allowed?"

Quin reassured him, "Oh yes, we are a welcoming village, although we don't have many visitors."

With everyone in agreement, they packed their belongings and embarked on a journey to the Lee Clan Village. As they traveled, the landscape transformed, and they found themselves in an isolated area, standing at the entrance of the Lee Clan Village.

Eve marveled at the stark contrast. "Your village is so different from Kirin Village."

Teddy concurred, noting the absence of modern technology. "You're right. Kirin Village was isolated, but it still had traces of modernity. This village seems to reject it entirely."

Quin explained the village's philosophy. "Yes, our village believes in achieving true enlightenment through self-reliance and doing everything with our own hands."

Teddy, intrigued, commented, "That sounds fascinating."

Quin revealed a secret. "Indeed, but recently, our generation and those after us have been allowed glimpses of the outside world. That's why you saw me in town today."

Harrison, curious about the sudden change, asks, "Why this sudden shift?"

Quin hesitated, her voice tinged with nervousness. "I'm sorry, it's a long story."

Harrison offered his understanding. "No worries. My apologies for prying."

As they approached the village, Quin assured the group, "Make yourselves comfortable. I'll take care of Koa."

Harrison questioned her decision. "Are you sure?"

Quin exuded confidence. "It'll be alright."

With seemingly superhuman strength, Quin effortlessly carried Koa, leaving the group in awe.

Teddy marveled, "Woah, she's incredibly strong."

Harrison, not surprised, commented, "I shouldn't be surprised."

Just then, an elderly woman appeared, warmly greeting the group.

"Hello, strangers. Quin has informed me that you are her guests."

Teddy spoke up, affirming their purpose. "Yes, we helped bring her brother to the village."

"Ah, I see. I apologize for Koa's exuberance when meeting new people."

Christian finally regained consciousness, observing the scene. While Koa was put in one of the tents.

The group then engaged in conversation and explored the village with the guidance of the elder. Christian then seized an opportunity to satisfy his curiosity. "Hey, old woman."

"Yes?"

Christian, his hunger evident in his voice, asked, "When do we get to eat? And why is Koa so strong?"

The elder, known as Chula, smiled kindly. "We'll have dinner shortly. As for Koa's strength, it's an intriguing tale—one that I will share tonight, along with the history of the mighty Lee Clan."

Christian's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Deal!"

Teddy, resigned, muttered, "Oh, brother."

Harrison, sensing the significance of the upcoming storytelling, agreed, "I suppose one night won't hurt."

As the hours passed, the group mingled with the Lee Clan members, discovering their kindness and genuine hospitality. Finally, the eagerly awaited dinner arrived.

Christian, his appetite voracious, exclaimed, "Finally, some food!"

Harrison playfully scolded him, "Don't be greedy, Christian."

Christian, momentarily distracted, remembered his burning question. "By the way, Granny, when will you tell me the history of your clan?"

Village Elder Chula, now seated at the table, gestured for patience. "Yes, but let's wait a bit longer until everyone is settled."

As the group savored the delectable food, the air buzzed with anticipation. They knew that beneath the calm facade of the Lee Clan Village lay a rich tapestry of history and power, waiting to be unveiled.
