CHAPTER 49

In a dark corner several girls slept shivering not because of cold but because of what was a head of them.

Agatha and Maeve sat holding each other trying to give each other warmth and hope but they knew very well that hope wasn't the right word to use.

Maeve never said a word she was still grieving and hating her dad for selling her out. Was she not that important to him or he used her only to dispose her at the end.

Henry was the only man that Maeve could respect because of how he treated her. A girl who could dream and her dad made it come true was now a night mare. Men were truly evil.

What they had experienced in the past two days wasn't just a dream but a reality they only watched on screens.

"Come down one by one no pushing." He said it soo well you'd think that there was something great a head.

A big field was a head with tall green grass that you'd hide but get bit by either a snake. In the far end were a fence and several doors.

Men sat at the corner as if to watch a game or race, that's when it hit them. It was life and death race where they'd run and the men in the corner would bet the winner if you lose you DIE.

"We won't be doing what we did last time, but like in the old days and our tradition you run and we shoot if you get shot… well too bad you're not lucky."

With no time wasted after every guest sat and made there bet the race began.

"Will the plan work?" Agatha and Maeve whispered ear to ear.

"Of Couse, that's if you don't ruin it for me." Knowing Maeve well, her plan was bound to spoil.

The gate was opened and girls would go in in a group of five the make a straight line. Same would go for other and made three lines making them fifteen.

Maeve was in the middle line while Agatha was in the first line making it advantage to guide Maeve to survive.

Soon a gun shot was heard so was the first line. Men covered in grass would lie in the grass. They were clever enough to bring the girls there because grass would limit the access to fast running.

Gunshots were fired and two girls were down, so they released the second group of girls.

Just like the plan Maeve run in a zigzag manner to confuse and mix with other girls to avoid getting shot. This was unfair because the girl ahead or behind would get shot.

It was play to survive no time to think about the others. Last but not least all the girls were on the field and because of their previous shock and injuries some of them had no energy to run.

Out of fifteen, six survived but the sixth girl died on their way back.

"Food is ready." Once the word was out the girls ran like mice to the line. Food was little and first come first serve.

Eating like there was no tomorrow this was their only was of survival. Food wasn't that great because you'd vomit after,

"Can't the day get better, look I told you this bitch was here." Every girl looked at the one particular girl.

 MAEVE.
