21 Random Act of Kindness 1

Soon, the Prime Minister, Ambassador Grayson and other members of the government staff in the Prime Minister's entourage arrived at the vestibule. They got off and the International Vice Chairman gave them hugs one after the other before he ushered the group of fifty men to the Board Room, and they took their seats gracefully. Now, the Prime Minister had visited to commiserate with the organization and apologized on behalf of the government once again, "I must say that we are not proud of such degree of insensitivity. I assure you that tha culprits would be brought to book."

"Thank you doctor. I count it an honor to have. I will convey this to the Chairman," the International Vice Chairman appreciated on behalf of the organization. Afterward, they sent them on their way.

“I will see you later at home. Let me get my family," Ambassador Grayson whispered to the International Vice Chairman.

“It is all right, I'm expecting you.”

Subsequently, he sent for Mr. Nura, and they left for the Surgical Center.

At the Surgical Center.

He was not surprised when he met his wife and mother at the Surgical Center with food, neither was he surprised to see Leon looking depressed. Then, he greeted his mother and wife. Afterward, he set out to walk to the wards.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Israel," Leon greeted with an emotional voice. Then, he gave him a warm smile, which put him at ease, and responded, “Leon. Good afternoon. How was school?”

“School was fine," he responded, and walked beside him to the ward again. After he had checked on Mr. Morris and his Security, they proceeded to Jeff's ward. To Leon's annoyance, the doctor was still there, as if she had assigned herself to protect Jeff from a Grim Reaper. When she saw the International Vice Chairman walked in, she stood up and greeted warmly, “Good day, Sir.”

Now, Mr. Ken Israel gave her a searching look before he responded, “Good day, doctor. How is your patient?”

'I don't think she would have the right answer. Just sitting there and do nothing.'

Leon mocked under his breath. But to his disappointment, the lady gave an encouraging response., “He is responding to treatment. I envisaged that in a couple of days, he should be able to breathe without the aid of a ventilator.”

Now, just like Leon, Mr. Israel was pleased with her explanation and did not conceal it. Then he smiled broadly and said.

“I see. That is good to hear.”

Now, the doctor looked at him and declared, “Dr. Williams would not be happy if he hears that I told you this.”

“I got it.” Mr. Israel said. Then, he looked around and discovered that that she had no pack of food with her, and inquired.

“What about your lunch? It is like the janitors did not get your park to you?”

“Oh! Thank you for your concern. It must be in my office. I will get it.” She replied happily. Then, she got out of the ward with them, walked to her office, got her lunch and returned to the ward to keep an eye on her personal patient.

Now, Leon, who envisaged that Mr. Ken Israel was not cross with him anymore, whispered into his ears.“One of my lecturers, Prof. George Green, is hospitalized in one of the wards.”

Mr. Israel, who was familiar with the name, George Green, and he was aware that his father had been desperately searching for him. Although, he could not tell whether it was the same Mr. George Green who Leon was talking about. All the same, he picked interest on whoever he was, provided he was connected with Leon and his school. Likewise, he requested, “Take me to him.”

“All right, Mr. Israel," he accepted with excitement. They walked back to his ward and met a man who looked older than his age, battling with his life. On an impulse, he picked up his card, which was beside his bed and looked at his age. His face beamed when he discovered that he was ten years older than his father, similar to the man he had been looking for.

“Let's see the doctor" Mr. Israel requested. Now, Leon was elated when Mr. Ken Israel requested that they should see the doctor. Meanwhile, he could not explain the reason for his happiness. Soon, they were at Dr. Gerald Milestone's office and he greeted, “Good day to you, Mr. Israel.”

“Good day, Dr. Milestone. How are you?”

“I am good. And you?"

"I'm good too."

"Kindly take your seat.”

“Good day, Dr. Milestone.”

Leon greeted and took his seat too.

“Good day once again, Young Master.”

Now, Dr. Milestone faced Mr. Israel and inquired, “How are your patients? I hope they are responding to treatment?”

“Certainly. There is an improvement.”

“That is good to hear, the doctor admitted. Now, Mr. Ken Israel elucidated, “I have interest in the patient in ward eighty-seven.”

Dr. Milestone gave Leon a questioning look before he faced Mr. Ken Israel and answered, “That is good. The Young Master accompanied us to his ward a few minutes ago. His case is critical because so much fund is required for research into his ailment. His insurance and savings cannot finance the research.”

“That is pathetic. What about his family?”

“I have not seen any member of his family.”

“I see. How long does the research take? I mean, are there any chances that he would live until the research is concluded?”

At that point, Dr. Milestone ran his hand through his head and gave an honest detail, “We treat, but God heals. I cannot give any definite answer to that, but the earlier, the better.”

Now, Mr. Ken Israel inhaled and exhaled. He looked at Leon who was already devastated with the statement of the doctor coupled with Jeff's condition and consoled.

“Cheer up, Leon. Everything will be fine.”

Now, Dr. Milestone, who was astounded with Mr. Israel's consolation. Looked into his eyes and inquired, “Is he his relation?”

Mr. Ken Israel, who was also weakened by all the challenges, shook his gently and announced, “He is his lecturer.”

“Oh! I apologize for being unprofessional. I should not have said all that in your presence."

At this point, Mr. Ken Israel stood up and Leon did likewise.
