“What are you doing in my room?”
“Not exactly the reaction you should have to seeing someone you tried to kill. Unless, of course, you succeeded in killing said someone and you came upon their ghost lounging about in your room. I suppose that question could fit in that particular context.”
I stayed seated in the chair I had settled in while waiting as Bethany hurriedly closed the door behind her at my words.
“What are you talking about?” she hissed.
I sighed tiredly. I was at a loss for how to handle Valen’s little sister.
On one hand, I could sympathize with how she felt about her brother given her misunderstandings. Until Valen decided that the truth was, in fact, relevant, I didn't anticipate their relationship improving. I could even understand her not being thrilled at my arrival if she thought I would somehow cause her brother to derail into some version of their father.
But was that enough reason for her to try and kill me? Absolutely not.
