Welcome To Break Point

The boy woke up in his soft bed. He wakes up because of the light that automatically turns on in his room at a specific time. The boy whipped his covers off of him and jumped out of bed. When his feet met the white floor, he instinctively jumped back onto his bed.

Boy: I do this every day, but the coldness of the floor still surprises me every time.

The boy then braced himself and began walking on the cold floor. He walked three steps to his mirror and looked at his appearance. He was a boy with white skin, green eyes, and brown hair that reached the top of his neck. He was wearing an orange one-piece that was way too loose for him, with silver numbers on the back that said 3076#9. Around his neck was a heavy metal necklace with a small part on the front glowing orange. He ran his fingers across the glowing orange part of the necklace.

Boy: Raymond says we are never supposed to remove these necklaces, but they sometimes get so heavy.

As the boy is looking at himself in the mirror, fixing his messed up hair from the way he slept, a voice fills the room.

Masculine Voice: Report to the lobby and get ready for showers.

The boy's mouth formed a smile.

Boy: It's time to see Sarah and Kyle!

As the door to the boys' room opened, he exited the room and found himself in a completely white room. The room had a gigantic blue window and six doors with big blue windows next to each of them. You were able to see through the windows into each bedroom that was behind them. Raymond told him never to touch the window when he was inside his room, but he could touch it as much as he wanted on the outside of it. The boy went over to look out of the giant blue window. Whenever the boy looked out this window, he saw something Kyle called a field, but because the window was blue, it added a blue hue to it. According to Kyle, the fields were usually green, and Raymond claimed it was a magnificent view. Raymond also claimed that the glass of this window was hard enough to take three hits from Leon. The boy had no idea what that meant, but he assumed that it was a good thing. Soon after the boy entered the room, two people entered after him through their own separate doors.

One was an 8-year-old girl with dark skin, black eyes, and dark brown hair. She was wearing the same one-piece he was wearing, except it seemed to fit a little better on her, and the silver numbers on her back were 3076#23. The girl also had bandages around her arms and hands. She had a hairstyle the boy had never seen on anyone except her. She called them locs, and they went all the way down to her back. The other was a 17-year-old boy with white skin, black eyes, and brown hair that was always messy. He was so tall that the boy's head only came to his stomach. He was also wearing the same one-piece, but it fit him pretty well, and the number on his back was 3076#26. He also had bandages around his neck. Both of them were wearing the same black necklaces as the boy.

Boy: Good morning, Sarah and Kyle. How did you two sleep?

Sarah: My neck and back hurt a lot, and I have a headache. I swear my bed is as hard as a rock.

Kyle: Same here; I feel miserable. But good morning to you, too, Geo.

Geo: Your beds are hard? Well, mine is super soft, and I slept great last night.

Sarah: No one asked how you slept, Geo.

Kyle: Sarah, that isn't very-

Just before Kyle finished his sentence, everyone heard the sound of steel rubbing across a solid surface as all three of the kids' eyes went toward the back of the room. They all saw a hallway that was not there a moment ago. In front of this hallway was a man. He was a man with short brown hair, a wide white smile that matched his creamy skin, and yellow eyes. His eyes were slightly slanted, and they had a mischievous look to them. He wore brown pants, a button-up long-sleeve green and yellow striped shirt, goggles across the top of his head, and a long white lab coat. The lab coat reached down to his ankles. There was a navy blue B and a dark gray P, with a sword piercing the top of the P on the back and right shoulder of the lab coat. Geo didn't know what the symbol meant, but he planned to find out today.

Geo: RAYMOND!

Geo ran to Raymond and jumped into his arms. Raymond caught Geo before he fell, and they began to hug.

Raymond: Good morning, Geo. How did you sleep?

Geo: Really good; thank you for asking.

Geo then turned his head around to make a smug look at Sarah, but when he did, Sarah was not looking at him. She was looking at Raymond with eyes filled with fear. Geo then looked at Kyle, and he was also looking at Raymond, but Kyle looked more angry than scared.

Raymond: Why do you look at me like you hate me every morning?

Kyle: Because I do.

Raymond: Oh.

Geo was not alarmed when Kyle said this. Something like this did happen every morning after all. But the strangest part of all of it was that Geo had no idea why. He didn't know why Sarah or Kyle treated Raymond the way they did. In fact, Geo saw Raymond as a very kind and caring man.

Raymond: Well, that doesn't matter. You are stuck with me, whether you like it or not.

Kyle began walking toward Raymond. When Kyle began coming towards Raymond, he pushed Geo behind him. Raymond then extended his arms to his sides as if he were trying to protect Geo from Kyle. Kyle was now so close to Raymond that they could both feel each other's breath, and Geo realized how short Raymond was compared to Kyle. Kyle towered over Raymond at the height of 6'4, and Geo didn't know exactly how tall Raymond was, but he only came to the top of Kyle's chest.

Raymond: Is there something you want to say?

Veins began appearing on Kyle's hands and face as he began to grit his teeth. Kyle then looked behind Raymond to see Geo. His eyes were stuck on Kyle, and his eyes were filled with fear—fear of Kyle. Of course, Kyle always talked to Raymond disrespectfully or yelled at him, but Geo had never seen Kyle act like this toward anyone. When Kyle saw the way Geo was looking at him, he instantly calmed down and began to back up from Raymond.

Raymond: Well, if you have all of your emotions out, then we can continue with the day as planned.

Raymond does a 180-degree turn and pats Geo on the back as he begins walking down the hall. Geo begins walking next to Raymond down the white hall.

Sarah: Geo.

Geo turned around to see Sarah smiling. Even though she was smiling, Geo had a feeling she wasn't as happy as she looked.

Sarah: Come walk with us instead.

When Sarah said this, Geo almost did it until he saw Kyle, who was walking next to Sarah. When he looked at Kyle, he felt uneasy, and instead of slowing down so he could walk with them, he instead continued to walk with Raymond. They all continued walking down the hall until they all stopped. They all saw two metal pads. one on the ground and the other on the ceiling, directly above the one on the ground. Raymond reached into his lab coat pocket and pulled out a card with very small words and a picture of him on it. Raymond walked to his right and held the card against the wall. When he did this, a small square the size of his hand began to glow sky blue. The small blue square then opened up and revealed a red button. When Raymond pressed the button, the three kids covered their eyes as a brilliant sky-blue light began emanating between the two metal pads. The kids then let a couple of seconds go by and let the light die down a bit until they uncovered their eyes and saw a sky-blue pillar of light that was connected to the two metal pads. Raymond called this a warp.

Raymond: Alright, you all know the rules. One person at a time.

Kyle walks into the pillar of light first, and soon after Sarah walks in after him.

Raymond: Come on, Geo; it is your turn to walk in now.

Geo: ... Raymond Before we continue, can I ask you something?

Raymond: Of course.

Geo: What does the BP on the back of your lab coat mean?

Raymond: I am glad you finally asked! The BP is actually an abbreviation for something.

Geo: Oh! Okay, what is it an abbreviation for then?

Raymond: Break Point.
