"I must be seeing things. There's no way there's a gun on his nightstand." I think to myself. I close my eyes and then open them again. "Nope, the gun is still there. Who is this man, really? He's proving to be much more interesting than I imagined..." I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around and give Elliot my most sheepish smile, knowing I'd been caught. "I thought I told you not to enter my room." He demanded. "He'll know I'm lying when I open my mouth." I thought to myself. "The door stood ajar, and I got curious... so I peeked inside. I'm really sorry. I promise to stay out of your bedroom from now on." I murmured. I move to walk past him, but he takes a step to stand in front of me. "Where do you think you're going?" Elliot asked. "Since you don't want me in here, I thought I'd leave as soon as possible." I explained. "I won't let you off the hook that easy, Evie" "Is that so?" He tilts his head to the side and smirks. "I never expected I'd get such a cheeky wife. Maybe I should punish you." Elliot grinned. I blink several times, not sure how to process this. Elliot's eyes glaze over me, a smile flickering on his face. "Evie, I was only joking." He joked. He winks at me, and I give him my best smile. "That's such a shame. I might've liked it" I snickered. I was only making a joke, just as he had. But his eyes turn dark, and I find myself in dangerous territory. "It doesn't have to be a joke." He chuckled. "He's serious!" I say to myself. "Um, I should go to my room and unpack" "Right, yeah, of course. I was messing with you." He giggled. "I know, and I'm sorry again for snooping."I apologized. Elliot nods at me. "I need to work, so I'll be in my office if you need me." He quickly turns and heads out. I scan my new bedroom with wide eyes. "I can't believe that this is my bedroom. It's almost as big as Elliot's!" I thought to myself. I quickly start to unpack my things. I walk toward the closet to my stuff inside, but when I open it, I find that it is already packed with clothes. "What the–" I stare at all the beautiful clothes. "Is all of this for me? Did Elliot seriously go out of his way just to get me this?" I thought to myself. I smile at the thought. My phone vibrates next to me, and I pick it up to see that my best friend has texted me. "Hey girl, how's the married life?" Thea asked. "Hey! It's all good. I just moved into the mansion, so you know what I'm doing... I'm relaxing in my princess bedroom." I texted back. 'No way? Gosh, I'd like to have a princess bedroom too. Is there a walk-in closet?" She asked. "You bet. And it's completely stuffed with beautiful clothes!"I replied. "Even princess dresses?!" "oh yeah. And the price on each of them is basically the monthly rent for my old apartment." "Dang, that's insane! And he bought them just for you?" She replied. "I'm not sure, I haven't asked him yet. Maybe they were there before?" I responded. "Yeah, because we all know he loves to walk around in dresses." She commented. "Hah! That's something I'd like to see." I laughed. "Me too. I bet his legs look nice." She replied. "Thea!" "What? It's not like I can't fantasize about Elliot Anderson's legs now that you two are married... Or can't I" "You're crazy. I need to go, someone just rang the doorbell." "alright, love you!" My eyes are once again drawn to the pretty clothes. "It"d be a shame not to wear something nice for my guest." I think to myself. I sigh and put aside the new clothes, instead taking my old t-shirt and jeans. "This'll do." I say to myself. Then I quickly scurry down the stars. I open the front door to see Thea standing outside with a wine bottle in her hand. "Surprise!!!" Thea yelled. She throws her arms around me for a hug, and I can't help but laugh. "I just had to see the home of Elliot Anderson in person. And just by looking into the hallway, I can tell I'm going to be impressed." She blurted. I chuckle and shake my head. Come inside, and I'll show you around" I grinned. "Yes! I'm all down for that!" She yelled out of excitement. After I show her every room in the house( except for Elliot's bedroom), we sit down on the couch in the living room. I open some snacks and offer her lemonade. "Do you want some wine?" Thea ask. "The one you bought me?" "Yup. I'm already drinking from it, anyway." She swindles the bubbly fluid in her glass. "Sure, I'd love a glass of wine!" I answered. "Great!" She fills up my glass, and I take a sip. "It tastes heavenly." "Good?" Thea asked. "It's really good, thanks!" I replied. Thea sinks into the sofa and sighs. "Girl, I am so jealous of you. I want to live in a beautiful house like this too! I can't believe he has his own gym and music room!" She says. " And don't forget the cinema." I added. "Are you and Elliot gonna watch a movie in the dark together?" She teased. She wiggles her eyebrows at me, and I laugh. "Maybe. You never know what happens." I responded. "So you're saying that you'd want to?" She questioned. "No, I'm saying that if it happened, I wouldn't mind." I corrected."Oh, la la!" She grinned. I can't help but blush. "Wait, you're blushing! Did something happen between you two already?" She asked. "I'm not going to lie, there have been some heavy flirting between us... but we're just friends." I explained. "Stop trying to deny the chemistry between you! You know, there's nothing wrong with mixing business with pleasure." "Thea, I don't think it's a good idea." I respond. "It's a very good idea. Just imagine how good of a boyfriend he'd be. Aren't you at least a little bit curious?" She asked. "It's not going to happen!" "Why not? I think he is totally into you. You could use that to your advantage." She suggests. "I couldn't do that. I don't want to use him." I replied. "Who said anything about using him? I"m just saying, Elliot, is a powerful man... But if anyone can bring him to his knees, it's you." "you think so?" "I know so! Look, just wait a bit, and see what happens. Don't deny yourself the opportunity before it even knocks on your door." She replies. "Hmm. I wonder if Thea might be right." I think to myself. A few days later... I am scrolling through my news feed when I suddenly get a message from Elliot. "Hey, are you home?"Elliot asks. "I am, actually. Why?" I questioned. "I'm on my way to a meeting, and I forgot a really important document in my office. Do you think you can pick it up for me and bring it to me?" Elliot asked. "I'm not your personal assistant anymore." I reply. "Please, Evie. I'm meeting with Taylor Perry" He begs. "Taylor Perry... as in THE hottest popstar in Hollywood?" I questioned Elliot. "Yes, her. She's not really satisfied with her current production company, and I've finally convinced her to sign with me. Please, Evie. Could you do it as a favor for me?" He begged. "Fine. Only because you asked so nicely." "Thanks, I owe you one." When I get to the office, I find that all the lights have already been switched off. "Hmm, there's no one here. I'll just get this done quickly so that I can get home. Now, where could that document be?" I talk to myself. I scan the room for the contract, but can't see it. "Maybe it's in one of his drawers?" I pull out the first desk drawer, but I don't find the contract. Instead, my eyes catch something else. On top of the drawer, there is a pregnancy test - accompanied by a small piece of paper. I take the receipt and look at it. "Oh my gosh. He bought this today."
