I can't stop staring at the pregnancy test in his drawer. "He has bought them today, that much was clear. And he obviously had someone on his mind when he bought the box. Is he sleeping with someone else? Maybe someone from the office? Most girls would be more than willing to jump his bones if they had the chance. Or... maybe he's expecting to sleep with ME?" I say to myself. I leave the office feeling confused and worried. I arrive quicker than I thought and Elliot meets me in the hallway. "Did you find the contract?" Elliot asks me. "Yes." I hand him the contract without making eye contact. "Thank you for bringing me this." He thanked me. "Whatever" I replied. I turn to leave, but Elliot grabs my arm and spins me around. "Hey, wait a minute. Are you in a hurry or something?" He questions. "Something like that." His eyebrows pinch together, and he looks me deep in the eyes. "Is everything okay?" "Of course. Why wouldn't it be?" "I don't believe you. Is it the house? Do you not like it?" He continually questions. "The house is fine," I respond. "Then what is it?" He looks generally upset, looking for hints on my face. "Don't worry, Elliot," Just as I am about to tell him it's nothing, Taylor Perry walks in, her high stiletto heels clicking on the floor. "What's taking so long?" Taylor asks. "We were just–" "I'm the world's most famous pop star right now. I have places to be and people to meet." She lectured Elliot. "I know that." He responded. "Then why are you wasting my time?" she questions. Elliot's eyes flare, but he stays composed. "I have the contract now, so we're ready to go," Elliot replies. "Good. You have five minutes to impress me." Taylor stated. "No." Both Taylor and I look at him curiously. "You have five minutes to Impress ME." Elliot declared. Taylor Perry rolls her eyes and stomps away like a little girl with a tantrum. Elliot turns to me. "I'm sorry, I have to go. I'll see you later at the house, okay?" "Okay..." "I'll have my driver take you home." Elliot kisses me on the cheek and then leaves. Later that day... "Honey, I'm home!" Elliot shouts. "Very funny." I say to him. "I thought so." Elliot chuckles and then winks at me. "You seem to be in a good mood" I commented. "I guess I am. Taylor Perry signed with me, after all." "Congratulations." "I think that deserves some pizza, don't you think? I'm ordering right now, what do you want?" Elliot picks up his phone and starts dialing the number. "I'm not hungry." I answered. He looks at me, puzzled. "You already ate?" "Something like that." Elliot's brows furrow, and then he puts his phone back in his pocket. "Something is wrong, isn't it? Tell me what it is, Evie. What did I do" He demanded an answer. "I'm not mad at you." "That's even worse. Did someone hurt you?" His jaw ticks. "I needed to tell him. At least this time there won't be any distractions" I think to myself. "I found the Pregnancy test" I finally tell him. "Elliot goes still before me. He probably wasn't expecting me to say that. "Alright, well..." "Well, what? Why would you buy a pregnancy test literally just a few days after Paul explicitly told us not to hook up with anyone else? Who are you sleeping with?" I ask him with rage and anger. There's confusion and anger in my voice... and traces of something else. Elliot steps closer to me and regards me seriously. "Evie. I'm not sleeping with anyone." He tells me. "But you want to ?" " Do you seriously want to know the answer to that question?" He asks me. I feel my cheeks heating up. Elliot sighs. "Look, the pregnancy test is nothing but a facade." "That is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard!" I yell. "And why is that?" he asks. "Think about it. If you wanted to tell the world you love me, you should have bought me flowers and chocolates... not something that screams how much you don't want a kid with me." I explained. He lets out a heavy breath and runs his fingers through his hair. "You're overreacting." "No, I'm not. If you want to hook up with someone on the side, I think I deserve to know. At least we could come to some sort of agreement, then." "Please, just stop. We can discuss it later." He continually pushes the matter to the side. "No. Tell me now–" "IT'S FOR YOU! Okay?" My eyes grow wide and a gasp escapes my lips. Elliot stares at me without blinking. "You expect us to sleep together? You haven't even asked me if I wanted to." I complained. I cross my arms and give him a challenging stare. "I bought them in case something happens, You have to be prepared." "Really? This is quite a news to me." Even though I'm teasing, Elliot gets serious and inches closer to me. "I wouldn't sleep with anyone else. I would never put you in that kind of position." He comforts me. He raises my chin with his fingers, and I'm unable to pull away from his magnetic gaze. "I'm sorry I made you think otherwise," he apologize. "Well, that"s... good to hear." "I am ready to stay abstinent until this is all over, no matter how much you attract me." He proclaimed. My heart is beating so fast, it could pop out of my chest any minute. "Evie? You're smiling." Elliot smirks. "Do you like the fact that you attract me?" He nagged. He runs a finger down my arm, and I shiver at his touch. Images of him appear instantly. "What are you thinking about?" He questions. "You" "Oh, yeah?" I draw in a sharp breath, not willing to lose this chance. "What you say if I suggested we become friends with benefits until this marriage is over?" I ask him. Elliot licks his lower lip. A sinister smile appeared on his beautiful face. "Hmm... I would say that I would be very tempted. But I'm worried that it would complicate things if you got feelings for me." He explains. I laugh. He was so sure that every woman would fall in love with him. 'But I'm not every woman... I can handle him." I think to myself. "Maybe you'll be the one to fall for me." I flirted. "We'll see about that." He moves his hands away from me. He leans in and kisses me. I pull away, not wanting to kiss. "I think it's better if you think about it first. I need to know if you really want this." the heat that leaves his eyes, is replaced with bemusement. "Yeah, okay" "I'm going to bed. Think about it, and then we'll discuss it tomorrow. I sway out of the room, sure he would stay up thinking about me. The next day... I am in the kitchen making breakfast when suddenly, I feel someone's arm around me. I spin around to see Elliot. "Good morning," I say to Elliot. "Morning." "Breakfast?" I ask. "Please" I turn around to flip the eggs in the pan, and Elliot clears his throat behind me. "Listen... I've been thinking about what you said last night, and there's no reason for us not to be together." Goosebumps appear all over my body. I turn around and stare at his gaze. "Which is why tomorrow..." Elliot leans forward and whispers in my ear. "We're going on our honeymoon."
