Chapter 6

"What?" My heart pumps loudly in my chest. A honeymoon? Elliot smirks and pulls me closer. "You heard me, Evie." "yeah, but I just don't understand," I tell him. "What don't you understand?" He asks. "Why would we go on a honeymoon when we're not even actually married?" "There are two good reasons for that. One we both desperately need a vacation," he explains. "Can't argue with that," I thought to myself. "And two, it would be weird if we didn't go now that everyone knows that we're married." He explains again. "Oh, really? And you don't have a secret motive at all? Like getting me alone without any distractions?" I responded. Elliot smirks. "Well, I guess you'll have to find that out tomorrow" "Why tomorrow?" I ask. "Because that's when we're leaving." Elliot presses a lingering kiss on my cheek and then strides out of the kitchen. "Oh lord, what have I gotten myself into?" I say to myself. Later that day... "Okay, quick question. If you were going to the Bahamas for a honeymoon, what would you bring?" I text Thea. "OMG! He's taking you to the Bahamas?" Thea asks. "Yeah. Isn't that crazy?" "Totally crazy! I would totally bring nice clothes, a bathing suit, and a good sunscreen." She texts me. "I'm in trouble then. The only bathing suit I have is old and washed out." I explain to her. "Don't worry, I've got you! You can borrow something from me." "You're a lifesaver, thank you!" I thank her. "Anything for my best friend. Now's your perfect chance to make him fall in love!" 'Thea!" "What?" She asks " Well, maybe I already have..." "No way?? Spill!" " I suggested we should be friends with benefits for the time being... and it looks like it's on the table." I explain. "Woah! I'm speechless! And so happy for you! Let's be real, you totally need to get off." "Lol, no doubt about that! I have to pack my bags now. I'll go get that bathing suit later, that okay?" I ask. "Of course. Love you !" The next day, we were on our way. I was so excited the whole time, and Elliot was a perfect gentleman. He even held my hand on the plane, gripping it tightly until we landed. "This is our room." Elliot says. My eyes grow wide when I first see the room we are staying in. "I book the honeymoon suite. Do you like it?" "I love it! This room is amazing, it must be super expensive!" I answered. He chuckles. "It was." As I scan the room, I notice that there is only one bed. Rose petals are spread all over the floor, making it look really romantic. I gulp hard. "Does he expect us to share?" I think to myself. "You okay?" he asks. "There's only one bed..." "Is that a problem?" "No, I just... didn't expect this." Elliot puts his arm around my shoulder, his body rumbling with a burst of quiet laughter. "Evie, we're on a honeymoon. Recently married couples usually sleep in the same bed together." He explains. 'Oh, right. Of course." "I couldn't exactly ask for a honeymoon suite with twin beds" "He's right. Of course, we're going to share a bed," I thought to myself. The thought made me a little nervous for some reason. "Evie, you've got goosebumps all over." He points out. "I have?" "Yes. Are you cold?" "no, I was just... thinking." I tell him. He smirks "What were you thinking about?" he asks. 'I'm not thinking about anything. Absolutely nothing at all" I lied. "You little liar! I know what you were thinking about." "You do, huh? And what's that?" I question him. " You were thinking of me" He gives me a devilish smile. "Are you always this cocky and arrogant?" I ask him. Elliot puts his hand up to his chin, pretending to think it over. "Yes, I guess I am." He responds. "Gosh, can you be more annoying?" "You love it" "Do not" Suddenly, without warning, Elliot pushes me against the wall. His large body towers over me, and his hands are on both sides of my head, trapping me. He leans in closer to my ear, and whispers " You better stop playing." He commanded. His gaze falls to my lips. He cups my face in his hands and runs his thumb down my lower lip. "So pretty." He mumbles the words against my lips, and I sink further into his embrace. I close my eyes, waiting for his lips to touch mine...but suddenly, his touch is gone. I open my eyes to see that Elliot has backed away from me. He clears his throat. "I'm hungry, let's go out for dinner." he states. The moment is clearly over between us. I straighten my skirt and nod. "It's a formal dinner - the place is very fancy. I bought you a dress for this occasion. I hope you'll like it" He informs me. "You did what?" I blink several times. "The dress is in the closet. I'll go outside so you can get dressed." Elliot leaves me alone in the honeymoon suite, and I can't help but smile. I Look at the dress he left for me and my jaw drops. "Wow! This dress is amazing! I've never seen something so beautiful before." I say to myself. I put it on. Elliot enters the room, and when he sees me, he steps to a halt. He studies me with a dark look in his eyes. "You look... breathtaking." He compliments me. "Thank you" 'I can't wait to show you off at my arm tonight." He offers me his hand and smiles. "Are you ready for dinner at the VIP lounge with me?" He asks. "Actually, I'm not hungry. I'm really tired from the flight, so I think I'll just go to bed." I answered. "Oh, okay. That's fine" "Thank you for the dress though. I'm sorry I won't be able to wear it." I apologize. "Don't worry about it. Well, I have to go since I'm starving. I'll see you later then." He tells me. "Good night." The next day... When I go to brush my teeth, I find Elliot stretching in the living room. "Good morning" He chirped. "Morning" "How did you sleep?" he asks me. "Perfectly. This hotel isn't kidding around - that hotel bed is heavenly. And waking up next to you was even better. " I answered. "I'm happy to hear that. What do you want to do today?" I put my finger on my chin, pretending to think. "How about we go to the beach?" I ask him. "You want to hit the waves?" he questions me. "We're in the Bahamas. Of course, I do!" Elliot laughs as I run to pick my bathing suit. "What bathing suit should I pick? I want to look pretty for him." I said to myself. Just as I put it on, Elliot enters, already in his beach attire. "Are you ready?" he asks. "Yes," My jaw drops when we finally arrive at our destination. "Woah, look at this beach. I've never seen anything like it! The sand is PINK!" I drop to my knees and scoop it up in my hands, watching as it falls through my fingers. "Are you going to make sand angels next?" Elliot asked. "Ooh, great idea!" Elliot laughs as I get down and attempt to make a sand angel, spectacularly failing. "You're adorable." I look up at him, now standing close to me. "I will never get tired of this view," I say out loud. 'Why, thank you" He thanks me. "I didn't mean you." I tell him. "How about now?" Elliot flexes for me, and my heart does a doubletake. "It should be illegal to be this good-looking." I say to myself. Suddenly, a shadow appears, blocking my perfect view of Elliot's muscles. "Oh, no." I said to myself. "Hi, you two! How nice we ran into each other" Mina says with an attitude.
