Soldier POV
...
I yawn, shifting in my seat. Trying to unstick myself from all the leather. Beside me others are finally starting to wake up. They open up some snacks and take bites. Our sleep schedule has been quite weird.
Waking when the sun sets and sleeping when it rises. Not that it's any different than what we've done before just that... well- the view this time is just a bit different.
The sun sets and the rotors of the helicopter stabilize into this rhythmic pattern. The doors open with an almost deafening amount of wind. The city comes into view.
A scene of carnage, of spirit and will. Humans struggling against monsters, doing their best to take on the greatest of threats to their safety. But it was destined to fail, and in this... grief I only hold tighter to my spear. Letting the warmth of it flow through my hand. I took a deep breath and with it came my resolve.
