With the confusion of finding his sister alive and the chaotic feelings it left him with, Tobias' grip on Mielle was gentle, as if afraid that she might break if he held her too tightly.
Mielle, too, felt the intensity of this touching moment. She could sense the unrestrained emotions coursing through her little brother's body. Her heart ached for the pain he had endured, thinking everyone in his family had died and left him alone in this world.
Seeing her still alive must have come as a shock for him as it was for her. But a great joy swelled in Mielle's soul, knowing Toby was still alive and they had each other.
She did not know what he must have been through all this time. Where had he been until Andre brought him back to Everton, and who had cared for him? Mielle's mind was filled with a billion questions.
