However, over time, even as she struggles to liberate herself from this abomination of a man, Faye discovers their red strings of fate are more closely intertwined than she once imagined.
      
They both have become unwilling puppets of the empire. With the many hidden agendas and secrets of those in power surrounding them, they will have to put away their differences and form an alliance if they wish to survive.

The Dragon's Fated Bride

A/N: GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT IS IN THE AUTHORS COMMENTS! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

The Duke addressed Merrick last. "You are with me and Kellem, Merrick. I will need an extra set of ears and eyes while we examine the building plans. I have another idea."

Merrick, Kellem and the Duke made their way through the kitchens and into the servants' quarters. All the servants remained silent and watched as he was paraded past them.

"Where are the building plans?" Sterling asked.

Merricks keys clattered as he had unlocked Kellem's cuffs and removed the chains binding him. He rubbed at his wrists, which were now raw and painful from the metal restraints.

"They are safe," he responded, not giving a hint as to where the documents were hidden. The Duke could sense Kellem was stalling for time and wanting to negotiate for his life.

"SCHWING!"
