Making Friends

Amelie

The moment I stepped off the plane in Cairo, a mix of emotions washed over me like the desert wind. I had never felt so far from home, both in miles and in my heart. The vast expanse of the airport terminal seemed to echo with unfamiliar voices, and the scent of spices hung heavy in the air.

As I collected my luggage and headed towards the exit, I couldn't help but feel a lump in my throat. The bustling crowd of strangers surrounded me, yet I had never felt more alone. Memories of my last good night flushed into my head, threatening to overwhelm me, but I persisted. This chapter of my life was going to be without pain, it was a promise I made to myself the moment our plane touched solid ground.
