Chapter 10 Black Wolves
'Oh, finally I can see my stats, first 1 fireball is enough to kill a level 3 wolf, that's great...then 9 more fireballs to level up, I guess I can level up my spells by using them more'
'I got 30 XP from killing the wolf, one more kill to level up, and my fireball has the number 1 beside it, that must be the level, so nine more fireballs would increase the level to two, and my Mana is reduced by 5, so each fireball cost 5 Mana and I have a total of fifty meaning I have 9 shots left'
'After shooting all my nine shots, my fireball would increase to level 2 meaning it would deal more damage and have an increased range, maybe'
"This game just gets more interesting, we should kill more wolves to level up," Alisha said with a smile.
"You do know that was easy right, facing wolves head-on is an entirely different..." Lewis stopped as there more wolves stepped out of the cave.
The wolves spotted the dead wolves on the ground and quickly moved towards them trying to figure out what happened.

"On three, I'll take the one in front and you take the other one, then one of us would take the last one before it gets away, on three..."
'If she kills the one in front then I'll kill the other two, I don't know if I can shoot two fireballs at once but I won't know until I try' Lewis muttered as he stretched his hands forward.
"Now..." Alisha muttered as she let go of her arrow, Lewis immediately shot two fireballs from the palm of his hands towards the wolves.

Alisha's arrow hit the first wolf's stomach dealing 35 damage and killing it immediately but Lewis fireball was not enough to kill the other two but they were badly injured and quickly retreated into the cave.
"They didn't die, but your flame hit them, why didn't they die?" Alisha asked.
"The damage was reduced because I shot two fireballs simultaneously from both hands, I didn't think of that possibility"
"The wolves went back into the cave, I'm sure they went to call for reinforcement, should we leave or fight?"
"I don't know, but since both of us are weak in close combat, maybe we should climb a tree" Lewis suggested.
"That's a good idea, we should..."

Multiple growling sounds echoed from the cave and in the next moment, 15 more wolves dashed out of the cave.
"Shit we're toast" Lewis muttered inwardly as he looked at the tree from earlier, the tree looked sturdy enough to hold both of them and they could easily climb it but if they make a move the wolves are sure to react.
The wolves immediately began to sniff around their cave for any strange smell.
"We should attack and then make a run for it, if we remain here we'll surely be caught," Alisha said.
"You are right," Lewis mumbled and aimed at one of the wolves in front while Alisha aimed at one of the wolves in front, at the same time both of them fired and immediately stood up.

"Oh, I leveled up" Lewis mumbled as he ran towards the large tree.
"Hey where are you running to, we should head back to the village" Alisha shouted.
"Huh! I don't think I can run that far, don't worry I'll be safe as long as I...ahhhh..." Lewis shouted as three wolves dashed towards him.
They managed to kill two out of 15 of the wolves, and now the rest of them were chasing them.
"Few meters away..." Lewis shouted as he ran as far as his legs could take him.
"Finally..." Lewis shouted as he quickly climbed on top of the tree and breath a sigh of relief, then he looked down.
>GROWL!!<
All 13 of the wolves stood there staring at him on the tree, two of the wolves were attempting to climb the tree using their claws but they kept falling.
"So they left Alisha alone and chased after me, that's reasonable before she was heading back to the village and I was running around, so what do I do now" Lewis mumbled.
'Would Alisha come back for me, I also can't kill the wolves with the amount of Mana I have left and my recovery rate is 1 Mana in 5 minutes, I should try killing some of them first'
Lewis aimed at one of the wolves trying to climb up the tree and shot the wolf right in its face killing it immediately.

The rest of the wolves saw this and quickly created some distance between them and Lewis in case he tried to fire.
"At least they gave up trying to climb up, I bought myself some time, casting spells really take a toll on my body, I'm really tired" Lewis breath heavily as he sat down on the tree looking at the wolves, the next moment one of the wolves howled and the rest of them joined in.
"Shit, I'm really doomed" Lewis muttered as he heard howling sounds from different parts of the forest.
