Chapter 36: Moonstone Magic

Lilia POV

As the sun set the day after Dane’s departure, the Evenhide settlement rang with the everyday sounds of the pack going about its business. The crackling of cooking fires, the shouts and laughter of children at play before their parents called them home for dinner. The hum of activity all soothed Lilia’s anxious heart. The pack might be at war, but not gripped by fear.

She stood on the second-floor balcony of the Cresta home … her home. Shortly, she’d go inside for the evening meal that she’d helped prepare, but she needed to steal this peaceful moment watching the sunset and tuning into Dane.

No pain from him. No distress. Only pure focus and energy and passion. Thank Brigid.

Her senses alerted her and her skin prickled. She whirled to see Azandra behind her. The pack healer gave her a smug smile. “Good. I can’t sneak up on you. You’re becoming more and more wolflike.”

“If I weren’t, you might take me down to the training area and spar with me.”
