Unlike the unobservant Hobgoblins, Iris could see the situation from a totally different angle. As someone who accompanied Damian throughout the whole journey, she could tell that he was on his last leg.

She wanted to offer him cheers, or words of consolation. She wanted to tell him, 'You did well', but no words came out of her mouth.

Just as she had been staying silent throughout this pursuit, Iris just couldn't bring herself to say anything. She fully knew that no matter how sincere her words were, none of them would provide any support. If anything, some might even bring him down.

The only way she could truly make a contribution was to continue playing the role of an emergency detector, and that's what she did.

Despite fully believing that eliminating the Pursuit Army was no longer possible, Iris kept going, and in doing so, she managed to see how truly mysterious the shifts of fate were…
