Book Of Legacy

Regaleon went into his house and was greeted by the eerie silence of loneliness and desolation.

His grandfather, the only family member he thought he could rely on has passed away due to a heart disease and he was unable to do anything about it. The old man suffered such fate owing to the pressure exerted on him by the members of other families and only resorted to depression, thinking that he failed to protect the legacy of his parents.

*Ding: Master, I get that you want to bring upon your enemies a vengeful wrath but what are your plans for now, besides a failed attempt to sync with any of the mechatronic familiar.*

"I have thought about it Omnitrix. My next plan is to register into a good academy as soon as possible. Quasar Academy would be fine."

"Ding: Quasar Academy! Master, that school is only for the wealthy and last I checked, you were from a wealthy home. No offense.*

"You are correct. But actually, besides the wealthy, the geniuses can also attend the school and using your words, last I checked, I am fused with the most Omniscient being in the universe. I happen to also be a genius myself, courtesy of the good genes of my parents." When Leon said the last statement, a bitter smile appears on his face.

*Ding: Then I am guessing you are prepared for the future. Master, may I ask what your next move towards other families is? After all your vengeful wrath should also be your top priority.*

"One problem at a time Omnitrix, one problem at a time. For now, I get myself into Quasar Academy and then, I let my brainstorming do the rest of the work." Leon said with a mirthful smile dangling on his face.

He tidied up the messy house for a while before heading out to meet one of his father's old friend who had called, saying that he has something very important to show him.

"Uncle Afred, good to see you again." Leon smiled, walking towards a man who appears to be in his late forties. The man was sitting at a bar while holding a cup of wine in his hand. The moment he saw Leon, his eyes brightens up.

"Leon, it has been ages. How are you doing?" He asks, taking a sip of wine from his glass.

"Uncle Alfred, it has only been a week since you saw me. I don't figure a week would qualify as ages." Leon joked, taking a seat beside Alfred who laughs before gulping down another sip.

"Uncle Alfred, you never explained further about why you asked to see me." Leon stated.

"It is about your father." Alfred paused, a moment of silence flowing as he reminisce the past while having a nostalgic and bitter smile on his face. Shaking his head slightly, he continues, "Before your family was sent to the island, your father came to me and left me with a book. He asked me to give it to you when the time comes."

Bringing out a book from the bag that was placed on the table before him, Alfred handed it to Leon who stared at the book with confusion. Of all things, his father had chose to leave him with a book.

"Your father said you will know what to do once I gave the book to you. He also said that the book encompasses all of the work he and your mother has done along with the legacies they laid." Alfred said, gulping down another chunk of wine.

Regaleon stared at the book bewildered. The book looks like any other book and Regaleon could not see any other strange feature about the book but if Alfred said it is important, then he would have to look into it once he gets back home.

"Thank you very much Alfred. I shall take my leave now." Leon said, preparing to stand up.

"I heard you were at the Cybertron Centre today. Did things go fine? And, what was the level of your Crux?"

"Well, things didn't go as smoothly as I planned but the situation turned out fine. As for the level of my Crux, it is way below average." Leon said,

"Ding: Clearly you know that I am still fused to your spine Master and I can hear every word you are saying. I am not below average. I am simply the definition of excellence.*

Regaleon almost grinned at the complains of the Omnitrix but he stops himself.

"I am so sorry about that but never mind the status of your Crux, there is still a long way to go so you can still make it." Alfred consoles Leon who didn't take his words to heart. "Also, the book might be of help when it comes to tuning your Crux to perfection so you still have a chance to make a comeback."

"Thank you Uncle Alfred. I must get going now." Leon stood up to leave.

"Goodbye Leon, I wish you the best of luck in everything you do." Alfred said as the boy left through door.

*Ding: Luck. You have the epitome of luck attached to you so there is no need for luck. Am I right Master?*

Regaleon sensed the cockiness in the tone of the Omnitrix and couldn't help but tease, "Don't get too ahead of yourself Omnitrix. Even perfection is just two words away from imperfection. Am I right Omnitrix?"

The Omnitrix couldn't speak any further and could only sulk at the words of Leon who now turns his gaze to the small red book in his hand. Apart from the Omnitrix, he wonders what a book would help him achieve.

But remembering the words of Alfred, Regaleon shook his head before smiling, "The book of legacy."

His parents never fail to leave him a surprise. First, they fused 'god' to his spine, and now they left him with a book which contains their works or legacy.

He really can't wait to see what they have in store for him again.

With that thought, he went back home to prepare for the next day.
