Chapter 76

Since that day Amelie's and Aiden's relationship changed. Both of them didn't completely ignore and avoid eachother, going to the status of greeting when crossing paths.

Aiden had been keeping his word and tried diligently to do his part of the chores,even going as far as to clean the common spaces,which was more than Amelie could ask for him.There was something satisfying about watching a man mop a floor while she was sitting down and sipping a cup of coffee.But that satisfying feeling would dissappear the moment he opened his mouth.He hadn't left her alone after that day of her 'burning' rage.Everytime he saw her he would always smirk and leave behind a burning joke,which she would pretend to not listen.As long as he could do things,she would try her best to be fine.

Though,Aiden's change didn't happen overnight.The first few days he was doing great,but then he started to forget again so Amelie would leave small notes around to remind him.

Today was one of their days off and both of them happened to be at home.Amelie always had a habit of doing a deep clean during this day,since it would help her relieve her stress and give her the satisfaction of a clean house.Aiden had also just learned this and today he decided to be a good roommate and help around not knowing how his roommate would actually feel about this.

Amelie had a habit.When she did something,she didn't want anyone around. She would do everything happily as long as she was alone at home.She didn't want to be interrupted from her cleaning spree and she wanted to freely sing and dance to the music she listened with her earphones.

First Amelie started with the first floor,then she proceeded with the second floor with the idea that Aiden was out for the day.

While singing and swaying to the beat,she went to check on the laundry machine to see if it had finished so she could add the other batch.

"Yeeeeaaaaa-AHHHHH!!" Her high note changed mid-way to a high pitched scream as a baffeled Aiden stared at her.He was squatting infront of one of the washing machines, with a basket of clothes next to him,the clothes still on his hand.

Amelie's cheek flushed red as she held her racing heart.She wouldn't be surprised if she died of a heart attack in that very moment.

Silence.None of them moved or said anything.

Finally,Aiden's face started to crack his lips trembling and going upwards.

At that single shift of expression Amelie turned around and walked away silently,when the footsteps got faster and faster, a loud laughter was heard from the laundry room.

Hearing the laughter Amelie just closed her ears.She hoped for the ground to open and swallow her because after this,she didn't think she could ever face another human being again.

"Hahahahahahahahahaha!"Aiden didn't miss the opportunity to go and laugh at her face.Seeing how Amelie kept avoiding made him feel like making fun of her even more."Oh,please!Do it again!Do it again!I wanna hear all of it!Hahahahahaha!I didn't know I married a singer ahahahahaha!"

Rubbing it all on her face.

Amelie's cheeks flushed even redder and she just squated right there and covered her ears and face,shrivelling like a ball from embarrassment.

He squatted.

"Have you ever thought of pursuing a career in entertainment?"

Amelie just shrivelled even more.She thought that if he saw no reaction from her then he'd finally leave her alone,but that man got even more heated and cheerful,putting an arm over her shoulder.

"Listen.I can envison it.You in a stage and the crowd cheering for your amazing voice,it would be perfect.Our group has an entertainment company on the side and they've been looking for some new talent lately.We would be happy if you can bless us with your talent."

Amelie raised her head,giving that smug face of his a death glare,but flinched when she saw how he was so close.

Aiden also was taken aback by how close she was and finally noticed his arm over her shoulder.If he removed it now then it would make the situation even more awkward, giving the message that he was also embarrassed.He couldn't lose this round so Aiden resulted in doing something even more outrageous and stupid.

With the arm over her shoulder,he grabbed her cheek and stretched it out.

Bzzzt.

Amelie had a circuit shrotage and she was just there frozen looking at him like a dead robot.

Little did she know that Aiden wasn't so far from the same state.It was only a second later that the man realised what he had done and to top it off,he wasn't letting go.

Her cheek was so soft and squishy,he just kept pulling and rubbing,while Amelie's head shook from his actions.

Not gonna lie,he was enjoying it.Enjoying it a bit to much.

The victim of this 'crime' was just staring there with a frozen look on her face.After a minute of seeing no reaction from her Aiden just slowly retreated his arm and avoided eye contact as if nothing had happened.

"So what do you think of this career?"

Amelie just stared at him baffeled.She still couldn't process this situation.What the hell was that before!!!

The woman couldn't help but silently retreat while looking at him like he was some sort of creep.Meanwhile 'the creep' felt like he got an invisible punch.

Aiden collected all the dust his dignity was left at and laughed trying to push the topic to her again.

"Anyway let me hear you sing again.I'll audition you personally,hahahaha!"

And that's how he got Amelie to get angry and embarrassed again.She jumped up and pointed at him.

"You-you-you-agh!!" She couldn't come up with a good enough insult so she just pushed him away and left.
