Chapter 11: How It Turned Around ( 1 )

I always wanted to make it on my own even as I was younger, I couldn't stand not being independent.

Later on in life, I left home for college, leaving my neighbor and mother where everything in my life started. I even did my four years in college feeling satisfied and believing life's gonna get easier as I had a degree, but it seemed my market value only dropped from there.

I only made two friends back in my college life, but it didn't phase me leaving them behind. I just tried progressing myself, no matter how hard it was.

Going from job interview to job interview never getting a call back. It infuriated me but I had to keep going if I wanted to live to my word.

"Welcome, Mr Wright. Please have a seat"

"Thank you"

As I sat down on the chair, I just felt a serious aura fill the room. He stared into my eyes with his hands holding up his head as his fingers locked to each other, as he stared into my eyes. My throat started to close up from the anxiety of this uncomfortable situation. I didn't know if I could answer him if he started asking questions.

"So, Why do you want to work for us"

"W-Well, I know I'm fairly fresh out of school, but I have some work experience with a high work ethic I can bring to your company. I promise you I can bring success to whatever job I receive"

"It seems, I've heard enough Mr Wright. We'll give you a call back when we decide"

As I walked out the room I couldn't help but think, another failed interview within my mind. It felt as if shame was wavering around the corner as I walked out the building. I had two other interviews today but I couldn't bring myself to go another.

I wandered along the street. Mind drained, and my body was exhausted.

I had managed to stumble upon a fast food restaurant and decided to rest my swollen mind, from all my job tracking I've done.

The prepossessing cashier stood there waiting for my order, with the visible exhaustion, and irritation on her face. I became somewhat sympathetic of her pain for this treacherous world, making me hurriedly order so as not to give her any more hassle.

I found an empty seat next to a window and enjoyed a lonely meal once more, thinking about my next objective.

"Luna, isn't that Emmanuel"

"Huh"

He pointed in my direction, As he continued talking to a silver haired girl, her skin was pale, while her face was straight out of a Disney princess movie.

While the one who pointed toward me had the same hair but with a tanned complexion, it looked as if he came out of a magazine. The more I stared I understood who they were, The only people I knew who looked like that and bothered to hang around me in college.

He came up toward me, probably noticing my gloomy look, as if I've already given up on life.

"Why do you look so down, I didn't think you would greet us in that attitude"

He somewhat comforted me, just by giving me a sympathetic look on his face while his sister kept her distance.

As he talked to me more, he managed to get me venting all my pent up emotions as if we had continued talking for years. At the end of my entire rant he managed to sit through, they both stared at me, with genuine smiles. I thought they would feel disturbed I turned out this way, but there was nothing showing on their faces.

"Why didn't you call, we told you if you ever get in trouble with a job just come work at ours dad's company"

"I know but I didn't want to burden you guys with my incompetence, I know you thought you would think less of me as your senior"

He got a bigger smile on his face, while Luna gave a loud sigh.

"We always knew you were a hard worker but bad at communicating. That's why we gave you the offer you idiot"

" And it was all Luna's idea, hahaha"

As she heard his words, her body slowly walked behind him, raising her and making a chop motion on top of his head.

"What the hell, Luna"

"Shut the hell up, Lucas"

Her cold words and his warm outburst made the cold word feel warm once again, I started hating myself for leaving them behind, after they stayed friendly toward me.

I couldn't stop myself from laughing at the situation, forgetting all my misfortunes from earlier.

"Do you guys want anything, I'll pay"

"I love the offer, but aren't you short on money from not having a job"

"Right"

As I was on the verge of forgetting my troubles he brought it back with the snap of a word.

"Ah why don't you finish your meal and we head back to our office"

I couldn't help myself out of excitement, to rush my meal down into my stomach. I might've been able to compete for a world record with my recorded time.

But I hope these two held a grudge at me, I want to apologize to bother of them

"Luna and Lucas, I'm sorry for not keeping in contact with you"

He walked over to me raising his hand. He put his hand over my shoulder.

"It's nothing it was a year ago, let's go to the office, hurry up"
