WELCOME COMMANDERS TO THE UNITED NATIONS ARMED FORCES BATTLENET.

Welcome to Mission First, People Always. A War Game set in an alien invasion in the year 2100 where players will play Commanders belonging to the Armed Forces of the Unified Government of Earth also called AF-UGE. As you may have read in the introduction, Earth has been attacked by five unidentified objects that were actually five invasion fleets. At the moment, they have not been given an official name so they are called Xenos from the beginning but it can change depending on the game.

Conflicts arising in the 2030s encouraged the United Nations to officially become involved in the Wars with the mandate to stabilize the system and deter further aggression, establishing the Unified Government in 2049. Originally little more than a mere function of the UN, UGE would begin to see a radical change, evolving from a ministry to its current status as a federal executive, legislative and judicial body, eventually subordinating the Nations themselves. All existing supranational organizations, independent nations and city-states, and their respective territorial possessions and claims on Earth would be subject to the UGE in 2075. Soon on October 12, 2080, in accordance with the United Nations Global Defense Act (UNGDA) the United Nations Armed Forces were founded.

HOW THIS GAME WORKS​

The goal of Mission First, People Always is the defense of Earth against the Xeno invader. Therefore, players will enter the game as AF-UGE Commanders with the mission of combating the Xeno threat, while protecting human civilian populations from the Xenos.

An important initial focus in Mission First, People Always is that there will be an "election" for the position of Commander General who will govern a Region (North America, Central America, Northern Africa, etc.) and at the same time grant military capital (units) to the different Commanding Officers. Be careful, because if a series of defeats accumulate, then the UGE Security Council may demand the dismissal of the Commander General, at which point the selection will begin again. The Commanding Generals must set the Operations objectives to the Commanding Officers who will have to interpret their demands and orders, while carrying out their battle plans.

Turns and Initiatives​

The shifts will last one week, thus giving approximately 52 shifts per year. Each turn, players will present an initiative that describes their main objective, from providing support to the civilian population, supporting the defenses of X area or even fighting the enemy. It is requested that the initiatives be detailed, because the fun is in the details and will help a lot. If I see that an initiative is very vague, it will have a Malus. Battle maps are allowed and coordination with other players in your Area of Operations is favored.

Rolls will be determined by rolling a 100-sided die, a d100, simulated using a random number generator. I will respect the whims of the fickle dice gods whenever possible, so I apologize in advance if your rolls are consistently terrible. I wish everyone could be successful in their endeavors, but the dice give and take away in equal measure. Generally, a roll above 60 is a type of success and a roll below 50 is a type of failure while 50-59 is a tie that will be rerolled. The more drastic your actions, the more drastic the consequences for success and failure.
