Chapter 129-Prometheus’ Past

"AHHH!!!"

Prometheus screams as he flies down from the Heavens above, before landing in a giant wave with a huge SPLASH.

Prometheus frantically paddles to the surface and looks around.

All around him, as far as the eye can see, is water. But not peaceful water, like the ocean, no. The God of Water is anything BUT peaceful.

A torrential downpour rains down from the skies above, as if the very Heaven itself is crying. The wind howls, and thunder crashes through the sky.

It truly is the end of the world.

Prometheus gasps and spits as he attempts to stay afloat in the violent flood.

Off in the distance, Prometheus spots a huge wooden arc, which has a man with long white hair riding on top

"D-DAMN YOU, POSEIDON!" Prometheus frantically shouts as he waves a fist at the God off in the distance, "DAMN YOU!"

"WAH!" Prometheus cries as the flood begins to sweep him away.

Prometheus then hears a loud swoosh come from behind him, and paddles until he faces the other direction, watching as a GIANT wave forms above him.

Prometheus gulps.

"Uh-oh."

"SQUA! SQUA!"

Seagulls caw overhead as they circle around under the blazing afternoon sun.

"You, hey you, are you alive?"

Prometheus feels someone frantically poking his ribs, which causes him to flinch.

"Oh…" Prometheus groans as he slowly opens his eyes, only to wince upon being blinded by the bright sun.

The sun is then blocked out when the face of a young boy pushes itself above Prometheus'.

"Are you alive?"

Prometheus' eyes widen as he jumps to his feet, and frantically looks around.

"Wh-where am I?!"

Prometheus takes a step backwards.

"DON'T!" The boy cries, causing Prometheus to turn around, seeing that he's standing on top of an island, right at the edge of where the land meets the water.

Prometheus raises an eyebrow at the island's edge, where he sees that the street leads straight off the coast and into the water. Floating in the distance, are a few turned-over cars.

"Why do your streets lead into the water?" Prometheus asks as he turns around to face the boy, who looks away sadly.

"The flood came, and washed everything else away…" he gloomy answers, "So we were forced to flee to the highest point of town. The grown ups said that only people standing in the highest points of the world survived…"

"That's right…" Prometheus says to himself, "Poseidon…flooded the world…"

"Poseidon?"

Prometheus doesn't reply to the boy as he spots a nearby bench before limping over to it, then collapsing down on top of it.

Prometheus pants as he stares at the endless sea of blue.

"Poseidon…Anemoi…Gaia…" He growls, "Why…?"

As Prometheus lived on, he saw the world go through many changes. On top of his little island, Prometheus spent a hundred years watching as the flood subsided, inch by inch, little by little each day. Everyone around Prometheus grew old and died, but not Prometheus. He stayed the same.

And so, a hundred years came and went, and once the flood water had been evaporated for good, the great grandson of the boy that Prometheus had met approached Prometheus, who was standing on the edge of the island -which was now a mountain- where he normally stood.

"The water is gone," the man says, "What will you do now?"

"I'm going to go explore the world," Prometheus answers, "The world that Poseidon created."

And so, Prometheus did as he said he would do, and set out to explore the world. As Prometheus wandered about, he found that the world had been reduced to a desert wasteland due to the one hundred years of erosion that the land had gone through, especially in the Southern parts of the world. Little bits of greenery remained in the Western part of the world, at least. The Eastern parts of the world were more like a mountainous range. You see, due to the flood, every trace of humanity that didn't already live or had migrated to the highest points of the planet was wiped out. Due to the erosion of the flood, only the tops of the tallest mountains remained, which were turned into islands. Eventually, once the flood subsided, these islands returned to mountains once more, and now stood even taller in comparison to the ground before.

Eventually, Prometheus found his way to the Northern parts of the world, where -despite being sent back hundreds of years due to the flood- was far more modernized than the rest of the world, and thus, Prometheus took it to be his home.
