5 : The Past and The Regrets

Kei after defeating the Mother of Dreadweaver comes to his senses. 'What was that?'. As he observes the spikes which were present there. 'How did I do that? I never had an ability like that.' Then Kei sees all the Essence in the air and he raises his hand and gathers all the Essence together.

'I can't let that much Essence go to waste but can I handle that much Mana? ' Then Kei supplies the Essence with a little Mana and then he got an idea and he starts to divide the Essence into five groups so that he would absorb a group at a time which would lessen the burden.

He absorbed the first batch and the Essence was immediately converted into Mana. He grits his teeth very hard and he almost fell to the ground but he tolerated it. Then he absorbed the next batch which somehow felt more bearable even though he divided the Essence equally in each group and it went the same for the third, fourth and fifth batch of Essence.

After finishing his business with the Essence he could feel that his Mana had increased very much to the point it would have taken almost a year to gather that much Mana from but he gained it in one go.

Kei then walks towards the corpse of the Mother of Dreadweaver and he sees the black spikes which were lodged into the body. Kei didn't know why but he could sense some attachment to the thing. It felt like it was a part of his body

Kei raised his hand towards the black liquid and he could move it somehow. Then he started to reabsorb the black liquid inside him. As soon as he reabsorbed it he felt some vague memories also entering. He didn't like the feeling so he ejected it but some Mana also escaped with it and it turned the black liquid into something which was not normal. It had converted into some Dreadweaver and Luminari Weaveants but they did not have as much as regular ones.

Kei was stunned seeing this. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and he first thought that they would become an enemy for him but the monsters just stood as if they were awaiting his orders. Kei thought he might be overthinking it but tried it nonetheless 'Fight each other .' and chaos ensued. Both the Dreadweaver and Luminari Weaveants started to attack each other but it was pathetic as they didn't have enough Mana and they didn't have a proper body like the real one.

'Stop this ' and all the fighting quieter down. 'These things are monsters no matter how you look at them and if anyone were to find out that I have gained this ability then I also don't know what will happen to me and I'm still not strong enough to face the future so I have to leave them here. ' "Tch, what a shame." Kei started to walk back to the entrance of the dungeon but he felt the black liquid being reabsorbed into him. 'I didn't know I could do that . It feels like they have a small place in my body and I could instantly bring them out but they are too weak to fight against any opponent but maybe if I put more Mana in them then they might become useful.'

At this time Kei's stomach starts to growl interrupting his chain of thoughts about how to use and strengthen this ability. 'I better get out of the dungeon fast or else I might starve to death .'

He reached the entrance of the dungeon and saw all the corpses lying there . He could notice his best friend and the captain lying . He touched their bodies to close their eyes but immediately the black liquid came out and surrounded them. Kei was shocked and angered as it was disrespectful for him to do anything to them as they were dead but before he could do anything the black liquid changed its shape into something which brought tears to his eyes .

"Kei ? " a rusky voice was heard but the thing immediately bowed down and said "I'm sorry master , I wasn't able to control my consciousness. " The black liquid had taken the form of his best friend Zen . All to the minute details were copied except for the fact that everything was covered in black as they were made up from the black liquid . Next to him was the captain who also bowed down .

Kei held their hands and brought them up to their feet but he felt a sensation and he said as his eyes were covered by his hair "You're just an imitation, A COPY!" Kei shouted as he punches the face of Captain which bursts into the black liquid but then it reforms the face back again.

Kei just stands looking at the face of both the captain and Zen . They looked real if weren't for the fact that they had no emotions in their eyes.

Kei starts to get the memories of Zen and the captain . He could see the himself racing through the race track through the perspective of Zen . The problems he had faced while growing up . The sense of rivalry amongst them and how he wanted to treat his Father and his Sister who awakened but were not able to withstand the Mana within them . About how he always returned home to his old mother who would make food and how happily he used to eat it away and the smile the mother showed while watching the Scene .

Then gradually he could hear the daughter of the captain laughing . He could see the birth of the captain's daughter and seeing her grow up in Captain's arm which felt like he was holding her. He could see the bright smile of Captain's wife and her tragic death in calamity and how Captain raised his daughter through many difficulties . Coming home late from work , not being able to see her for days and much more things . Kei was getting the emotions and feelings of the captain. He heard Captain's last thought 'I'm sorry Mia, Daddy couldn't make it '

"AAAAAAAAAAAH" Kei starts to scream his lungs out and he clutches his head 'NO MORE, DON'T SHOW THIS TO ME ANYMORE .'

Almost when Kei lost himself in the emotions at that moment Zen appeares in front of him and he says "You are my rival and I know how strong you are so if you couldn't pull yourself through this then I would soar ahead of you and I would win and when I win , then I would taunt you till the end of your life. So get up now and don't let this overwhelm you." Kei smiles slowly and whispers "Bastard ."
